Anime discussion thread

I’m kinda sad this one just dissappeared into the ethos for a while… At least when it comes to the dub. Episode 1 came out 7 months ago, but 2 didn’t come out till last week, and 3 till yesterday…

I’m sadder it ended terribly (at least for me) . I feel like they ran out of funding and crammed a lot of things into the last episode that could have easily been spread out into 2 episodes. So the payoff felt flat despite everything that happened.

No spoilers!!!

How is there 383 posts on this thread and no one has mention Gurren Lagann? It’s the manliest most bad ass anime ever made. My number one anime, and I’ve watched hundreds.

I liked Gurren Lagann. Although for me it went a little too far off the deep end during the second half lol. My favorite work of theirs is Kill la Kill. Though I have same criticism for that as well lol

Manliest you say?

Why have you forsaken us with that profile pic?

Is haikyuu actually as good as people say? I’ve been curious but the sports thing seems like it might be kind of boring to me.

your welcome

if you are into the typical shonen tropes like starting off bad and getting better, rivalries, tournament arcs, skill development. Haikyuu is pretty great and really hype. but sports anime is something of a slight acquired taste, I grew up watching sports a lot of anime though slam dunk, hajime o ippo and such. if you want a nice slightly more mature sports anime compared to most to start off with its more fo a drama than your typical sports anime check out run with the wind. to me haiyuu is just a very good typical sports anime and is an excellent anime to get into

Got started with Majo no Tabitabi after seeing some art on an image board. A decent fantasy SoL that’s surprisingly dark at times yet very comfy at others. I kinda hate how pompous the protag is but eh. Visuals are nice. I enjoy the music in it more than I thought as well.

I want a HQ version of the OP… but holy shit is it really 1200 yen+ for a single? lol :pensive:

If your into this style of anime. I would emplore you to watch kinos journey. My favorite anime the season it came out In 2017. If you like that then watch the 2003 where the narrative focus is different and overall done better where the stories overlap but I think both adaptations are excellent and worth the watch.

Ooh yeah. I’ve had Kino’s Journey on the back burner when I first starting binging anime. Never got to it and forgot about it like 30+ series later. If I feel motivated enough I’ll definitely give it a go.

the original kino’s journey is one of my favorite anime of all time, the remake is decent too, but the original just strikes a certain balance between art style and writing that sets a very unique tone that not many anime have been able to capture since. Majo no Tabitabi does a admirable job at trying to emulate and/or pay homage to that type of storytelling. it’s quite obvious the light novel’s author Jougi Shiraishi is a fan of kino’s journey.
