all I can say CG and story wise Land of the lustrous was certainly better than whatever RWBY wanted to be and ended up being
The 3D was a bit of a shocker for me as well. I usually find CG really jarring in most anime. I watched the Bluray version instead of the weekly airing episodes so the visuals were phenomenal. I recommend giving the soundtrack a listen, and the intro music, because I find them both incredible. I understand you have to give up watching a show. School and other priorities come first. Although funny enough, school and work did stop me from watching the entire 2001 Hellsing anime adaptation last night. Now I have to find the time to watch Ultimate…
I found the #D jarring but it wasn’t too bad because the whole anime itself was CG and wasn’t trying to blend in to a 2d space thats when it bothers me most to be honest. I just feel japanese 3D aniimation is still in it;s infancy and is still awkward and can’t seem to figure out what it wants to dow with itself. big recent examples is the new lupin movie and the latest Goro Miyazaki film. the lupin movie wasn;t too bad it actually had some charm to it reminded me of some early 200’s 3d movies. but the goro film lacked charm and was rather dissapointing
2018 Anime I make a few exceptions to the no sequel seasons rule for some good spinoffs this year. actually this year is really good I missed a lot of good anime that I plan to go and watch notable Dororo, Banana fish , and Asobi Asobase so I’m gonna start making a list per year of anime I missed but I know is good.

-This year is one of those really strong years packed with great New anime and sequel seasons I had to choose what to watch within my somewhat busy schedule. sadly in many cases I unfortunately picked the wrong shows to drop or not watch
You haven’t watched Asobi Asobase yet? If you’re into comedies (this one’s on the more absurd side), you should definitely check it out. It’s one of my all time favorites
oh yeah 2018 was a great year both dororo and banana fish instantly became modern favorites of mine, definitely try to watch them if you can. Also SSSS.Gridman is sick and every tokusatsu fan should check out.
the sleeper hit of 2018 for me though would have to be Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru (run with the wind). such a great mature take on the sports anime genre. very refreshing
looking through 2018 has made me realize how much I missed from 2018 on and Im actually making a watch list. now as this se3ason is pretty light on anime I actually wanna watch so I have some room right now to actually catch up.
also run with the wind was one of my favorites that year. a lot of the side characters really hit for me and reminded me of myself and others that I went through school with. oddly enough kinda the same way silver spoon hit me at least the manga.
Damn, saw One piece Film Z and loved it. Then the ending came with a very good but old song that I somehow never heard before lol.
(this one)
Did they watch Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song?
oh shit thanks for bringing this to my attention Imma have to follow this one. It has not hit my radar at all but it looks good so imma have to add it to the season watch list. this season has been mostly underwhelming. but some good stuff. imma give it a few month to s finish my lists off make a new watch list as this season has been pretty mid so far Imma have to catch up on some anime I missed from the previous seasons. gonna have to start with2018 and update that list.
Here are the new series I am watching from this season (not counting sequels):
(Hiroyuki Sawano OST)
(Konosuba author)
Thanks for this. Great song.
Indeed, love it when you get a surprise like that.
Yo, this is actually pretty good. Excuse the funimation link. Solid show.
Wave, Listen to Me
Another few good ones this season, though maybe not to your tastes…
Love dragon maid lol. Will definitely watch s2 (manga reader as well).
Here’s what I’m watching
Cause I’ve watched every other season
If you know the manga you know how fun this show should be. Also oddly well animated and with some really pretty scenes already for a comedy romance show about a girl bullying a dude.
I think I know where this show is headed so I keep watching it hoping it’s not where it goes.
Kinda cool
I’m weak to isekai
Yep as @Rikudou_Goku said this is the same author as konosuba you can tell it’s literally the same characters different world.
Again I’m weak to esekai
This is one of those times when I really question japanese culture it’s literally a rom com where an fully adult man grooms a highschool kit but he’s hot so I guess it’s ok?
Seeming a good highschool rom com with wines from bunny girl senpai where the mc and girls are the modern trope of self aware characters which I love but these kids are more immature than the kids on bunny girl senpai. So the conversations so far are not to the level but I’m still enjoying it.
Post season 1 SAO premise where the mc can log in and out of the nerve gear anytime he wants . But the mc plays a super realistic rpg with a horror twist. This is one of those edgier fantasy shows with at least a decent sense of humor unlike something like goblin slayer.
If you like cute girls doing cute things with an interesting premisei would look into this. The first episode does a decent amount of world building but it’s basically restricted to 2 characters until the very end and 2 rooms in the first episode really interested to see where this one goes
This one is just a relaxing watch
these two are standouts so far that not a lot of people are talking about, so far so good.
also I’m surprised no one has mentioned megalo box 2 and fruits basket final season
