I’m already on episode 4. Doesn’t bring emotions like 86 did, and even that didn’t bring me to tears like Nanachi wailing at Mitty’s death.
Guess it might have been the double combo that made me depressed after watching them both one after the other lol.
Guessing there’s no love here for fruits basket…each ep is an emotional roller coaster.
That’s a given, man, though there’s only one episode left. Been gaming today
Dude… one final episode, but the end to today’s episode… The final moments of Tohru’s mother and the thoughts flying through her head as she lay on the ground bleeding out, thinking about her daughter, mentally crying out to Kyo to keep his promise and protect Tohru… There really isn’t anything like the love a parent feels for their child.
I feel like this is the most complete and satisfying adaptation and reboot that comes to mind…only thing I can think of that’s on par is fullmetal brotherhood
if we are talking about shit this seaso that has brought many emotions out of me its this show the las the pisode that aired fucking got me so angry and sad at the same time.
next arc trailer is out and seems really fun.
honestly the show starts to pick up even more during the train I hope they finish the show cause form ending the manga the shole show wont really get any better in regards to story or much emotional weight but knowing how good the animaiton can be it should be some fo the most pure and un-adulterated shonen seasons of this generation of anime aside from what jujutsu kaisen has delivered and the tournament arcs in MHA
Im a few episodes behind with Im a spider so what and catching up Im seeing some fo the laziest animation Ive seen for a while that fight between the demon queen and the dragon witht he CG demon queen made me loose a lto fo interest in continnuing. I dont my cg monsters in show but I would have preferred a slide show of a fight thatn this.
I feel pretty lukewarm about Higehiro, but I’ll reserve judgement until the final ep next week.
Yeah it does pick up…until you get to the ending which was meh to me.
I’ve decided to stay away from that show. I might read the LN tho since it gets a lot of praise.
I tend to have a huge sft spot for dramas and slice of life animes so generally I have a very postive skewed attitude in terms of opinion for them . personally I think the show is worth the watch but definitely not a show for everyone a lot of these drama slice of life animes/ or manga that skew and tackle themes they attempt to tackle here are generally not made to be fun or enjoyable. this show has been pretty emojoyable for me especially in alot fo the more haert warming moments. I think the show does what it needs to do pretty well though there are some moments especially the last episode that was kinda cheesy where Im not sure if its a failure of tranlation or nuanced writing just being a little bit of a weakness for japanse writers.
Well I was caught off guard today…did not know this was going to be released so soon! I’m not the only one waiting for this, am I?
Higehiro just finished today and it was alright. It’s not a must-watch but I didn’t feel like I wasted my time either.
I think I already know what my top anime of this season will be, but damn Oddtaxi was brilliant! This is underdog of the season, probably year, for sure and it most definitely deserves a re-watch. It did a great job linking all these seemingly random events and creating a unique story out of it. Man, that was great and it had a nice twist at the end too! So sad that this has gone under the radar…
I’d say ep 1 of Realist hero is 6 or 7 out of 10 as a fan. Good world building, but since it follows the novels pretty good so far its on the slower side initially. Will be better in action later in the season, but most watching will be doing so for the characters. A solid start, now lets keep it up.
Since most of the spring season anime have finished, it’s time to pick the top anime!
This last season was pretty packed with good anime so there’s a lot to enjoy, but there was one that I thought stood out from the rest.
anime of the season goes to…
Fruits Basket: The Final [9/10]
This is a pretty well-known title with its original works from the popular manga back in 1998. There was an anime adaptation made in 2001 and the manga itself won “best manga” in 2007. Fruits Basket is marketed towards the shoujo (geared towards adolescent females) audience which I think is why some people are hesitant about going into it.
I’ve read the manga originally a few years ago, so I knew what to expect with this reboot. I did not, however, watch the anime adaptation released in 2001. The manga itself was excellent, although it did take some time to get used to its unique art-style.
Fast forward to the most recent adaptation/reboot…Season 1 was good but I could see people not liking it after the 1st season. Season 2 was even better and season 3…well, was a complete home-run! It was so good, in fact, that it made it into my top 5 (probably top 3) slice-of-life anime, and I’ve watched quite a few. Every episode was an emotional rollercoaster, making anime like Your Lie in April a walk in the park. Admittedly, Fruits Basket is one of the few anime that made me tear-up. Of course, that will depend on each person.
Anyway, this is a show that likes to deal with each character’s past family trauma, twisted personalities, loneliness, love, friendship, and to some degree, mental illness. There are a lot of characters and each one gets proper treatment/screen-time. I will admit that some of these characters were annoying at first, including the main female protagonist (to me). But they provide an explanation of why each character are the way they are and, by the end of the season, you can’t help but respect all their personalities and stories.
Animation is also solid and beautiful. There are 63 episodes total so it will take some commitment, but I think this is a definite must-watch for slice-of-life fans. On the bright side, this does adapt the manga from start to finish so no cliffhangers or anything of the sort. Fruits Basket is such a complete and satisfying anime thus earning my highest recommendation for the slice-of-life genre.
Highly recommended! Streaming on Crunchyroll
Now for the others…
86 [8.3]
Slow start and heavy dialogue may turn off some viewers, but it is a great anime. I would put this as 2nd place for anime of the season.
Oddtaxi [8.2]
Hidden gem of the season. Unique narrative but cleverly put together.
Megalobox 2 [8.1]
Complete departure from season 1 making this more memorable overall.
Vivy [8.0]
Felt that the plot wasn’t compelling enough but impressive for an original works. Visually stunning and surprisingly action-packed!
Higehiro [7.5]
Didn’t stand out much compared to others in its genre but wasn’t bad.
Osamake [7.1]
This one was absolutely ridiculous but enjoyable! One of those time-wasters that people will enjoy even if it’s bad.
Snow White Notes [7.2]
Little character development. There are others worth watching over this.
Nagatoro [7.4]
Great VA and animation but as it stands right now I wouldn’t really recommend it.
Iruma [8.0]
Highly enjoyable and nice watch.
Demon Slayer Movie [8.1]
Beautiful movie and enjoyable overall.
Still planning on watching…
Moriarty, To Your Eternity, Super Cub, Zombie Land, Shadows House, Tokyo Revengers, SSSS.Daynazenon
I had to share these animations somewhere and I figured anyone here would appreciate them. They’re made by a Chinese creator so there’s no official Youtube channel.
This one is EPIC! XD
Long time no see lads, That Demon slayer looks fucking SIIICK. Defo worth whatever you paid for it and I can imagine quite abit?
Got some oldish pics of some weeb vinyls I bought for when I finally buy a turntable hopefully next month ahah.
First vinyl is Evangelion Finally had some wonderfull songs on it that I really want to listen to on vinyl hence I bought it. It also has a stunning affect on the actual vinyls themselfs which looks fantastic.
Seccond is probably one of my favourite artists Zutomayo and when I had the chance to grab a very limited edition vinyl of Gusare I just had to hit it up. At first I actually missed all the sign up slots but I randomly checked one day and someone backed out so I managed to grab it real quick. Now when I say real quick I mean ive never inputted my info as fast in my life cant wait to listen to it will probably be the vinyl I test my turntable on once I get it. Its my first ever one and my show peice, came with loads of stuff with it too. The weeb vinyl art totally didnt sway my choice in buying it at all
