Not only that but their facial animations and subtle character building is pretty unmatched everything from the eyes to subtle face ticks to little weird habbits a character does just adds a lot of character and attention to detail to each character. Hibike euphonium is a good example of them constantly doing this
in addition to Robotech…I watch Macross and it’s variants. they are similar but diverge from the Robotech story arc significantly.
omg your right. Hinamatsuri is the best comedy anime i have ever seen. Do you know if their ever gonna do a 2nd series?
omg i also forgot fooly cooly! also the best
Hinamatsuri is definitely underrated. I believe the manga kept on going further than the anime if you want more of that.
Doubt it most likely made to sell manga. I would just read that keeps the same essence it pretty awesome.
Also check out grandblue! It’s more crude than the anime you mentioned but it’s really funny I think you’ll be into it.
Yeah i think i’m gonna have to do that. i hope they are translated into english
aw yeah they do. just bought the first volume for 10$ lol

If it hasn’t been mentioned. PLANETES is a very strange, adult, focused show that surfs the line between Space Adventure, Drama, Slice of Life, Technology, Comedy, Drama, Terrorists, Garbage Disposal, Love Story and probably 8 more Genre I am missing, like Drama. Hard to get hold of it… Found a dub on YT for you guys
Odd I haven’t heard of it. That animation quality is impressive
I’ve heard good things about Planetes. It’s been on my To-Watch list for a while now. I’ll download the subbed version though cause I’m not about dat dub life. With very few exceptions, mostly due to Adult Swim and Toonami nostalgia, such as Code Geass and Death note. Classic example
nice thread. Anime has been a big part of my daily routine for about the last 13 years or so since I started keeping a MAL and eventually switched over to anilist. Watched my first anime in or around 2000 tho.
I’m one of those crazy people who does seasonal anime and watches probably anywhere from a dozen or two dozen series week to week, been doing the seasonal anime grind for the last decade so it’s just what I’m used to.
here’s my anilist if anyone is interested in what I’m currently watching or have watched.

hey Zeos It will probably show up on netflix or crunchyroll soon
Noticed you gave Prince of Tennis a 10. It’s been a decade since I’ve last seen it but I have fond memories of it. It even motivated me to learn how to play the sport. I barely hear it get talked about, which is quite unfortunate. (The 2001 version, I haven’t seen the newer adaption)
haha don’t pay attention to most of the scores on my list, lots of them are from years ago. i don’t even score anime anymore and haven’t for probably 5 years now. PoT is really good though and I hold fond memories of it as well… probably not a perfect 10 though
@BoomShroom if you want a really good tennis anime to watch I recommend checking out Baby Steps. Very good Tennis show that is quite a bit more realistic than PoT.
The baby steps manga is great as well. And has one of my favorite anime romances as well.
Just gonna throw out the obvious with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and my hero aca.
I also REALLY enjoyed rascal does not dream of bunny girl sempai. It is a great comedy romance type thing.
That time I got reincarnated as a slime is great. Funny, good action, and a refreshingly optimistic overall story.
Cells at work is good for the same reasons as slime.
Fire force hase some of the nicest animation and art I’ve seen in a while. The fights are brilliant and the story is well told, if a bit generic at times, and the characters are all likable.
Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungon is fun but a bit forgettable. Good waifus and funny but overall meh. Lil Lilli is adorable though.
Seven deadly sins is meh but but i rather enjoyed the characters. Ban is best boy.
Gonna throw Sing “Yesterday” for Me into the ring. Low key af, but beautiful and engrossing to watch.
Also Tower of God and Demon Slayer.
Sing yesterday for me is low key the best anime this season as well as kakushigoto
Probably going to get me in trouble here, but I’m actually pretty excited Avatar: The Last Air Bender is coming to Netflix next week. I think my 4yo will be mature enough to follow the story and enjoy it.
Cowboy BeBop was my first anime, closely followed by TriGun and Gantz, enjoyed them but haven’t gone through many different shows. A few different slice of life ones. Sometimes I just like watching something to have a different feel, Clannad is great baww fest, dunno if I could do the second season again after having a kid and not tearing up several times lol
