This season’s favourites are Sing for me Yesterday and Listeners. Continuing favourites are second seasons Kaguya-sama and Fruits Basket.
Listeners in particular is a fun show. It’s basically audiophile gear/music/mecha. Don’t ask me how it works. It’s as campy as hell, but it’s got one hell of a soundtrack (the ED’s change every episode).
Sadly, Ghost in the Shell: SAC2045 is terrible and doesn’t continue the awesome that is the first 2 seasons (which you should watch if you haven’t).
Because of the pandemic and a lot of postponed anime, I’ve been rewatching old classics and some recent good ones.
Ghost in the Shell: SAC 1 and 2 (peak GitS, accept no other variants)
Black Lagoon (straight laced office man joins smugglers)
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (fantasy steampunk epic)
Last Exile (Steampunk airships and a captain with Ahab syndrome)
Jormungand (female gun runner and her mercenary bodyguards)
Blood+ (Vampires, amnesic girl with a sword, some blood)
Kill la Kill (satire of the magical girl trope, gratuitous states of undress which is part of an actual plot)
Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans (child soldiers form mercenary unit. Much mech fights and angst)
Violet Evergarden (coming of age story about a former female child soldier who learns what emotions are)
Hi Score Girl (coming of age story about two die hard arcade gamers who are rivals but slowly fall in love)
Those are off the top of my head that I’ve rewatched and am currently rewatching these past few weeks.
Addendum: I can’t believe I forgot Bakuman, which is a slice-of-life story about mangaka and the manga industry. In the same vein as previously mentioned Shirobako (anime industry) and Eizoken (animation).
its really not even close to ero manga sensei. its a comedy anime about a mangaka but its main focus is a completely wholesome father daughter relationship. I really reccomend the watch
We all should share our anilists if used so we can all see what eachother is watching and what eachother likes, Its great for finding new stuff to watch and know what individuals like ect.

If u havnt got one u really should and i defo recommend Anilist over MAL but just using one really helps keep up with what u have watched ect.
Don’t wanna be that guy bubt the anime is rushed abit and the manga is just superiour because of it but still enjoyable, and the direction its going in im hella excited for but not to spoil it. It basically gets alot more action heavy and darker.
Liked the anime until they ruined it with new studio on latest season so i just read the whole manga. Its amazing and well worth the read. Also Ban is best girl.
Even if I were to concede that anilist is better, the sheer amount of effort and time it would take to migrate is not worth it for me, unless you know of an automated way of doing it. Profile.
edit: @Shiivu It’s been done. https://anilist.co/user/BoomShroom/
I just finished (what used to be) the final chapter of Saint Seiya: Heaven’s Chapter and I can’t describe how disappointed I am at how utterly trash this movie was. It’s supposed to culminate the 1989 classic anime “Saint Seiya” (Knights of the Zodiac), but it was such a failure that even the manga author years later denounced it as no longer canon. It was subsequently replaced by a manga titled Saint Seiya: Next Dimension in 2006, which has yet to be animated.
It will take years until the story of Saint Seiya is thoroughly animated but I will patiently wait until then if it means having a faithful ending to the story. If you’re interested in a classic show that inspired many popular Shounen such as Bleach, Gundam and Yuyu-Hakusho, then I suggest you check it out. I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece but it’s definitely an important part of anime history. Also the OP is a banger.
Ok what is everys favourite anime for Audio and Visual qualities. Mine is Houseki no Kuni/Land of the loustroud its an anime thats mostly CGI and its got to be the best looking anime ive ever seen. The quality is insane and just shows CGI can work. Made by studio orange and it legit made studio orange one of my fav studios. Its that good honestly I can’t wait to rewatch it on my TV. This is also due to actually having a proper sound setup for my TV now and the OST for this anime is one of the best ive heard. The intro amazing, outro amazing all of it amazing haha. I can’t fault the anime in any way its one of my favourites of all time and will probably stay there for ages to come.
Defo worth the watch. Also the story is pretty interesting. Its one of the rare cases where the anime is actually alot better than the manga.
violet evergarden on a purely animation quality level . its literally Kyo ani at their best, everything from the few action scenes to the very slow character moments to that pond scene was top knotch. really shows what netflix money can do. aside from that basically every miyazaki film
For pure visuals I loved fire force. The use of contrazting black and red/orange/yellow and just some of the shots they put real effort into make for a wonderful visual treat in my opinion.
Aggreed. On this one this generations shonen anime are pretty awesome for that. My hero acca and especially demon hunters are no slouches in that department
