You know right stax over thousand and have cheaper feel to them but they sound amazing plus to me it doesnā€™t look bad Iā€™ve seen worse like the thx00 might look nice but that hinge is absolutely the worse design choice ever Iā€™ve seen so many broken th x00s on ebay.

The koss 95x also have a cheaper build as well that seems like it will just break too lol.

oluv did a few sound comparisons with 58x modded against original and so on, but he refuses to use a headphone amp, what I cant undestand after ā€œmetalā€ helped him to get contact to drop, he could sure get his hands on a nice stack of SGrace balanced + 789 or so as reference like metal uses the same stack
so his impressions of a 6xx or a harder to drive planar are not ideal, using a mobile phone as source
his binaural recs in the woods of some big fat bluettoth speakers are also funny and maybe helpfull for some people

A review from powering using a phone might be helpful for someone who only plans to do that, but TBH you would want to have a proper amp and dac to get the most out of a headphone, especially hard to drive ones

Pretty sure Oluv has one of the Topping units on hand. Commenter Twil Inter made much the same objection to his LCD-1 first impressions vid that Martin and M0N are making. His response:

HD600 sounds the same regarless if used with amp or no amp [plus link to his video demonstrating this]

I mean when heā€™s using an amp that probably is only marginally better then a phone in the first place, I wouldnā€™t expect much difference either lol. And itā€™s not like you would be able to tell the difference through youtube. I agree that in theory a good amp really shouldnā€™t have itā€™s own sound, but in reality amps do have their own sound either by design or by how the headphones and the amp actually drives the headphones, and when talking about the 600 and 650, you can notice how the sound changes from amp to amp pretty easily imo
