đŸ”¶ Audeze LCD-X

Just finished a custom cable for the X, $20 Kbear Rhyme IEM cable. I think it looks and feels great, much better than the stock cable imo. Also the length suits my setup a lot better.

Hello,
I would have been interested in a comparison between the Lcd X 2021 and Lcd 2C 2020.
Especially whether the extra price would be justified.
And whether or not there is room for improvement in terms of sound.
Because I think you can rarely go wrong with the Classic and it can’t be too far away from the Lcd-X.

Thanks man. But depends what material and finishing you put into it
definitely have pros and cons. However with look alone will makes it looks lively just like the carbon fibre headband.

Mind sharing what EQ you are running on the RME and the LCD X?

I just tried the lcdx and they sound great! but why are they sooo crazy heavy?? I think these would be top cans for me except that they feel like a bowling ball on my head
For that reason, I much prefer the arya or focals or he6 for long listening

Its funny the lcdx I feel like its so heavy i cant turn my head, feels like I"m wearing a storm trooper helmet lol

My dream cans would be: lcdx if it were really light weight and comfortable

It’s called the LCD-5.

Seems like if Audeze made an lcdx price bracket headphone with the lcd-5 form factor, that could be a massive winner

I’m sure this is likely going to happen. When is the question. And if you ever have the pleasure of hearing the LCD-R
 massive improvement.

It is 400 dollars for aesthetics and MAYBE some minor acoustical difference, I think in that situation I’d hard pass.

How are LCD-X vs LCD-R?

Please give a list of amps that would pair well with. the LCD-X for more warmth with a denafrips ares2 dac.

I use the singxer sa1 with my LCDX. It does lean warm and it’s ran off my D90. Another amp that I actually think it sounds the best on is my JDS El 2. I pair it with the El 2 DAC and I wouldn’t call it warm but it definitely isn’t bright.
The best edition to both of these setups for me was a schiit lokious. I can dial in eq on the fly and had made every headphone I own a little bit better during listening sessions.
I also have some tube amps but I rarely use them for the LCDX.

I’m glad to hear you say SA-1! I have been eyeballing the LC D-X for a while now but wasn’t sure if it would pair well with the SA-1.

It does pretty well but I do dial in some treble when using the LCDX. It’s like everything becomes almost to smooth. It’s odd and it’s probably my borked ears because most every other headphone I have I just let it got without treble adjustment.

Can anyone comment - LCD-X 2021 vs M40x:

Does the X have that same kind of “studio” sound and balance as M40x?

If X does not, what would offer a more similar sound to M40x, at a higher level? Looking for ‘enjoyably neutral’, with outstanding bass and at least some real soundstage.
