I would agree. I got mine used so I donāt know how many hours of play time it actually had, but by the 3rd day, I was able to hear some of the characteristics that have been described with it that makes it fun.
Thank you @JJPablo @Soren_Peregrine @FBizzle for your opinions! Iām definitely still considering getting a pair of these soon.
I just want to clarify that Iām not trying to directly recommend them, Iām just sharing my experience with them, particularly the suede pads.
I have had these for less than a week and havenāt extensively used them. Though I was able to hear qualities of it that make them unique after a few days. I will say that I have a favorable opinion of them so far.
What pads were on them? The suede or leather? I think they get a fair bit better for me with the suede
I was allowed to try them both, so I did. For the few minutes I was allowed to go through my playlists I didnāt hear a significant differenceā¦ except I think the leathers gave out a bit more bass?? I canāt recall which pad is supposed to have better bass though. It might just have been a result of me adjusting position a lot to get a seal.
tl;dr a 10 minute demo doesnāt do it much justice, haha
Yes he actually responded on another thread I started asking that question. Right now Iām strongly considering the JVC HA-FDX1 based on some recommendations from him and a couple others. I honestly donāt know what type of sound Iām looking. I know I typically enjoy a warm sound and I know I want strong bass. I like for things to sound full and exciting. However Iām not opposed to branching out in IEMās because honestly I havenāt tried many to know what I like. I owned the KZ ZSX and thought it was fine, then I got the BL-03 and never went back to the ZSX. The warmth and natural sound was what won me over. The KZās sounded almost mechanical in comparison if that makes sense. Budget-wise Iām pretty open. Higher price just means Iāll have to be more patient and save up longer. I think I would like to keep it under $500 if at all possible. $200-300 would probably be my sweet spot.
No need to be embarrassed lol. I love mine. I would say theyāre up there with my favorite. I consider them a nice change, again why I choose to own so many. Any time I take a break from any headphone, like a week or so, I can go back to them and appreciate them more. I was hooked on my hawks for like 3 weeks, started building new playlists, but then I put on my teaks and forgot how much I loved them too. They are also just a fun headphone, good bass slam but with more sparkle than the hawks, and more intimate vocals.
Just last night, I put on my 650s after not listening to them for like a year, and I was like āwow these are still greatā. I kinda forgot about them and what they bring to the table. Listening to some cafe jazz where the vocals are prominent and the 650s just shine.
So I consider the hawks to by up there on top and are definitely added into the rotation of headphones I listen to frequently. I need that rotation and freshness.
Well said.
I didnt read the entire thread, but saw somewhere these are going for $200 now? And these over the NightOwls?
Yes and yes. The sale for 200 new ended, but looking used you will most likely find them used for that price in the us at least. I would suggest reading the thread though
Did follow here and there, but good advice. Thanx MON will do
Yeah technically the leather has more sparkle to the treble, the suede gives more bass impact and tones down the treble some.
Again, they really need to be given a good bit of time to listen to.
Itās only 600 comments! You can do it!
I havenāt tried a ton of iems, but Iād check out iKKO oh-10 if you like the Nighthawks. Theyāre warm and fun with big meaty bass
What caused the msrp to drop so much on these?
They stopped making them, so now they are at a very attractive price. TBH I donāt think they were worth at 700, but at 400 they were pretty good and at current price they are very nice
They have a remarkable ability to jam like speakers, I am 100% behind them. Love is a strong word, but I do love me some hawks.
Aw man, really looks like I wonāt be able to grab a fresh set on time so big rip-
They are also still available on Music Direct just for $250 instead of the $200 they were selling for a few weeks ago. Curious to see how long these stay in stock on the web.
