You mean the clarity or dark sound?
Itās got like both lol, itās a bit harder to explain
Well thatās pretty much the nighthawk lol! Hard to explain.
Well, I have noticed that it grabs detail very well, but also dark because the treble is nice, smooth, and rolled off.
This thread is hilarious
Wouldnāt describe it as very dark, but depending on what you are listening to you can perceive it as a bit dark or not.
Whaaat!..I heard so many say it was a extremely dark headphone? I heard so say so many other things said as well?
Well, I own a very dark headphone, so I should know in comparison, lol.
With leather pads, the treble on this can actually be too much, at times. Itās just something about this headphoneās fr where some treble can seem recessed or not. Itās not a traditionally dark sounding headphone.
Yes this thread is hilarious. Iāve been reading the comments.
You should probably drink the koolaidā¦ jus sayin
Are they really $700 on sale for $200 though? Seems misleading
The site selling them for $200 have a 2 month return policy. Iāll need that for the burn in process.
Yeah I know itās up and down when it comes to, what people think the quality of them are. But Iām looking for something different, and most enjoy them.
I didnāt like the 1More headphonesā¦they are uncomfortable, and the V shape is pretty extreme. The treble definitely gets hot as well.
Thatās where I got them. I think theyāre worth it for $200. $300-400 would be stretching it maybe.
God has any one tried motown on these cans!!! Holy. They shine. It kinda adds but cleans out the bass. And it tames down the treble just enough that the old recordings kinda lose those harsh vocals and guitar. Iāve never heard motown sound so smooth. I can actually crank it more. Even horns are nice and smooth. Damn.
Pretty sure I canāt listen to motown on anything but these now lol
I love my Nighthawk carbon headphones. The tuning is not for everyone and it is very different. The first time I listened to them I found them muddy and veiled but after a while the relaxed fatigue free nature just sucked me in. And then you realise the detail is there, just not in the same way.
To me these are an object lesson in the importance of personal preference and the danger of assuming frequency response curves derived from statistical analysis of preference must be the right way to design headphones and that a headphone deviating from such curves is a bad design. I would not imagine the Nighthawk is for everyone but clearly some adore it and I am happy we still see such different designs. It will be a poorer hobby if it ends up everything conforms to some kind of homogenized frequency response curve.
And the mechanical design is superb. Large properly around the ear cups, perfect clamping force with no sense of tightness but still stable and secure. A lesson to others.
My only criticism is the needlessly stiff and heavy cable. Great case though.
Shout out to the Harman target lol
This may have been talked about earlier in the thread, but has anybody swapped the cables on these? I keep hearing people say how awkward the provided cable is. Do you guys have any recommendations on a replacement?
Also, is anybody using these with the BTR5? I am looking for a portable dac / amp and that is the one Iām considering right now. Curious to know how it pairs with the Nighthawk. The only other thing that I would be running off of it would be my BLON BL-03ās.
