The Bifrost is pretty sweet from what I hear.
I would just ask M0N what you should get, he’s super knowledgeable in DACs at any price point lol.

That’s the thing though lmao. I did talk it over with him a few times about it. All these options look really enticing. Who knows, I love this amp already, so maybe I should get the multibit card to give that a try, and that’ll last me through University, it’s the cheapest option of the bunch for an r2r DAC. Even cheaper if I want the 4490 card.

Sounds like a fine choice. If you do want to go for something more expensive and more of an investment, the Bifrost sounds like a good option as well.
Just don’t overthink it and remember the most important thing is to have fun with all this!

Looks like it comes with a Dragonfly Red as part of the package so that seems like a really good price considering.

Exclusively for single player gaming. I dont listen to music. Overkill yes but this is my only hobby.

Lol, at least this way, you won’t have to worry about making the wrong choice. As you may know, Nighthawks are discontinued so they will be harder to find in the future. Although honestly, I had a slight fear that Ryan would call it quits on the Argons at some point, which was how I persuaded myself to pull the trigger earlier than planned haha.

Edit: Technically you have two hobbies when you include gaming.

The wood on those is so nice… I like it so much better stylistically than the black/glittery styled pair that I have. Also 250 for the headphones and the dragonfly seems like a very good deal… and you don’t have to wear them in for 150+ hours it seems lol

Also, gone for a week and there was a whole discussion about Argon vs Nighthawks… I still think the next pair of cans I’m getting will be the Argons, but idk when that next purchase will be.

If you need a balanced check out dyson cables. I got a 2.5 trrs balanced cable for my hawks for 39 bucks. Came in today and works like a charm

The strap. Just use something that is curved and wider to prevent the strap from deforming. I read it can develop a bump if all pressure is put in the middle.
