There are a lot of things I would do for a pair of Nighthawk Carbon if I didn’t have them… maybe paying too much money would be one of them.

I also think the suede pads they have are way more comfortable to wear. I can wear them for literally all day, and not have issues.

I am personally gratified to you for sharing your comments and view on these headphones.

I have had about 4 days of breaking these in and my opinion about them is getting stronger from my initial observation.

They are unlike any other headphone I have owned. I feel less inclined to critique the sound, in fact I have been listening solidly for about 4 hours, from The Doors to Pink Floyd via Miles Davis and Marvin Gaye with a bit of Stranglers thrown in. I have even listened to some EDM from one of my Google Playlist and that sounded good too. In terms of presentation they sound to me more like room speakers on my ears rather than headphones!

A funny thing happend last night where I did find the sound to be “strange” to the point I was starting to get critical and had to take them off. When I did I realised I had them on the wrong way round

Anyhow, thank you to Captain Nighthawk and the rest of the Nighthawkateers, I am really loving these!!!

How does the Nighthawk pair with slighlty warm amp? Will the sound be too dark?

could be. i have paired them with the liquid spark and it’s phenominal but indeed i would say it’s better for hip hop in those cases (assuming u use the suede) while if you end up choosing the pleather pads THB i could see myself prefering the warm liquid spark over my xduoo. However with the suede i for sure 100% prefer the xduoo. so hmmmm all preference at the end of the day lol. i wouldn’t worry too much. personally tho i would generally recommend a brigther/neutral amp for these

I have Arcam rHead and not planning to change it in a future so it would be good to know if the synergy might not be the best. I could order the Nighthawsk and perhaps return / sell them later if ths sound it too dark but thought I’ll ask first.

That would actually be solid, I don’t think it would be overwhelming or anything. It would lean a touch warmer but not enough to personally bother me imo
