Basshead IEM recs

First post here.

Not sure if anyone here is familiar with the Aurisonics ASG 2.5, but mine has died and I’m in need of something similar since they’re discontinued. After a bit of research, apparently there really isn’t anything similar. It was basically an in-ear subwoofer (the thing had a damn bass port you could open for maximum insanity).

Can anyone recommend me something that’s going to just push a ridiculous amount of air but at the same time have clarity? I’m more than happy to spend into the higher end tiers.

Z1r is supposed to be a bass king. Outside of that my bass reccs are oh10 and fostex te04(reduce midbass to help with clarity). Lesser bass monsters are fh3 and bl03. Finally if you are 100%open to eq get yourself in ear planars like m350, isine series, gold planar etc. No substitute for 30mm driver pushing air in your earhole with a good seal.

hi there, ive been reading all the post and currently i have an KZ ZS10 pro and im pretty satisfied with they bass and sub-bass but i want to get a little jump to an FiiO IEMs and here in Argentina all the imported products is above the 50% more expensive so i have to decide between the FD1(beryllium driver) and the FH1s, my emphasis is the sub-bass, pleasant rumble and a subtle roll-off at least under 30-20HZ…what you guys recommend? most of the IEM mentioned here, in Argentina you cannot find them…its sad

Z1R have great bass, but wouldn’t consider them a bass head IEM in terms of quantity

Well, if you want bass quantity then…

Has anyone had the Acoustune HS1650CU? I currently have the FH5’s and I’m looking to kind of step up from those in to a more HI-FI equivalent with more sub bass quantity and mid range refinement, but still with a vocal focus, and solid imaging and detail. From what little Ive found about the HS1650CU’s they definitely fit the bill, and I’m able to get the updated HS1657CU for a really good deal. But i can’t seem to find much info on them, even after google translating videos from japan on these. Can anyone tell me if these are worth getting for around $600?

Get the Tingker TK200 if you are considering the No.3.

They still do well. Although I much prefer using it with EQ rather than the tape mod, since the tape mod makes it very very bloated. While with EQ you can have both bass quantity and quality at the same time.

S/H Campfire Vega would be a good choice I love mine doesn’t have the technicalities of the Z1R but it’s a v shaped super fun listen.
Chifi wise the Thor Mjölnir has a good bass fun rep, not heard it myself and there may be some QC issues? but might be worth checking :+1:

I think this thread needs a spreadsheet, be nice to have them all in one place. Still looking for my sub-bass kings

Welp, if KZ AST isn’t on this basshead list yet, I don’t know what the world is coming to… It is THE most bassy audio reproduction device I’ve heard, between all IEMs, earbuds, headphones, and speakers(not including subwoofers). Honestly too much bass, so you have been warned/challenged.

For bass quality and quantity and $ invested which would be a better starting point?

Thieaudio Clairvoyance - $600

64 Audio Tia Trio - $1150

I understand that tia trio is 2x the cost and that performance scales log and not linear. But is tia trio head and should above Clairvoyance specifically in bass performance and overall performance or is it close?

These are words of wisdom

What’s the word on the street about Penon Orb? From the few reviews i read it seems to have good bass but I can’t find a squigg…

Penon is special. Penon sets are measured by ears, not by couplers

I can’t tell if Penon is legit or a joke

They made my favourite IEM ever. GK10. Good stuff.

For real? I thought you liked clean mid bass? GK10 seems a bit bloated.
So, is Penon the OEM or Geek is??

Bro… My set:

My favourite iems are Mangird Tea. Followed by rsv and ej07m :joy:

Just follow what Dsnuts recommends, don’t even think twice. Just trust his in-ear integrated couplers and buy what he says it’s good.
