Basshead IEM recs

Oh10 is a sub bass monster, but for all the bass all the time Ex800st with tape mod is just stupid. I found it bloated, but everyone has opinions etc. Also the Oh7 look to be good per Zeos so that maybbe a more high end option,

Agreed, the EX800st with the tape mod is bloated and quality is quite bad.

For a basshead iem I would take the Tingker TK200. Most quantity and also with good quality of all my iems.

For Bassheads the IMR Headphones can be a good choice. I have the IMR Rah and the Bass Quantity is just mindblowing

Iā€™d like to add that the Sony XBA-N3 is a pretty good option too! Still getting my thoughts together on them, but so far Iā€™m really enjoying them.

Can vouch. Own the Polaris 2ā€™s as well as the Z1Rs. Pol2s are much more focused on the bass and rumble. Z1Rs are more of an accurate representation and full bodied bass but itā€™s true to the music. Polaris 2ā€™s Roar! Lol

I can also rec the Pol2 and the Sony N3s as well. Both have wonderful bass.

Agree :100:% about that with the Z1Rā€™s mateā€¦wonder how the Pol2ā€™s stack up against the Vega/Atlas which set digā€™s deep, deep, deeper into the bass pit :man_shrugging:

have empire ears bravado on the way

do you know how the polaris v1 compares to v2?

No sorry mate Iā€™ve not heard either of the Polaris sets just the Vega and AndrošŸ™

Anyone?

Polaris V2 has the same depth of bass but it was more detailed in my opinion, the v1 was too murky

Hi Everyone,

Thinking of getting either the 64 Audio N8 going to try the universal N8/the U12T before deciding on customs but which one does everyone think is better in terms of bass? The A12Ts are the custom version of U12T. Also, I heard from crinacleā€™s YouTube video that the custom version has a overpowered DD inside vs the universalā€™s more modestly powered DD. Basically it comes down to DD vs BA bass and from what I have gotten in my hands and heard so far. I like the bass from the FH7s which I sold Andromeda gold edition with 4 bass drivers. I am going to get my hands on the 64 Audio Trios soon but that isnā€™t the end of it as I want something comfortable. VS Noble Audio Sageā€™s which has a expanded bass port and BA drivers bass was tight but not my liking. I like the rumble and sadly it did not deliver in that aspect. Also, briefly tried my friendā€™s Noble K10s he got and it was more of the same except more expensive so better clarity and detail retrieval. This is my first post please be nice and some recommendations would be great. I want to go to Sydney, Australia to test out stuff at a few stores but this current global pandemic is making things hard. Thanks so much.

Hey welcome aboard buddy

It might also be worth taking a looking at the Nio as thatā€™s pretty crazy when it comes to bass :+1:

Yeah just finish watching that review. Yeah thinking about it. Probably going to get the trios first then see if I like them if I do then I guess I will keep them till I can test stuffā€¦ So, yeah. Which I am hoping borders reopen in the next year or two hopefullyā€¦ They canā€™t keep borders closed for so longā€¦ EDIT: These 64 Audio Trio are from a friend I briefly listened to them with my own music I was so shocked at the sound I eventually sold the Andromeda Gold Edition because the sound that was coming out of the Trio was just that good and at the time it was on sale for $2500 AUD which is only $500 more than what my Andromeda Golds cost at $2000 so it was a steal. But yeah excited just have to wait 2 more months as I am paying for the iems and a cable too so yeah.

Well the Andromeda Golds served me faithfully for a while but yeah it was just a night and day difference so yeah. Enjoy that Vega bass my friend.

My ears dont hear any bass ā€œbloatā€,furthermore the bass doesnā€™t bleed into the mids or drown out the highs. The one weakness would be stage? But I guess calling yourself a ā€œBassheadā€ is the cool thing nowadays! Ex800st are a bang for your buck with or without the tape mod. The tape mod gives you basshead iems.

I read that you spend 2k on iems. Have you thought of looking at old iems? For sure there gold nuggets out there Iā€™m thinking in the likes of the sony ex1000. Youā€™ll spend probably like 500$ ,and those are legendary iem for what your looking for. Plus slot of reviews to get more accurate feedback.

I love my EX800st, itā€™s my favorite iem, I meant its a stupid amount of bass, so itā€™s a great basshead iem. While I found it bloated or more correctly it was like a subwoofer being trapped in a room that had highly reflective walls so the bass almost reverberates in the iem chamber messing with the sound too much for me. It is still awesome with or without the mod tho and has my full approval!

if you dont mod it the bass quality is great. But the Tape mod made the quality drop like a stone. Extreme bloat. But my biggest problem with it was the treble, had to use eq with it.

I could see why the bass would be too much for some (I dont hear it, but I could emphasize) ,as far the highs being a problem, we clearly have different hearing. I dont get where the highs would be a problem. I listen to classic rock ,classical music ,rap, edm, country, etc. So from natural instruments to electrical and I dont hear a problem with the treble. But se la vi.
