Use Hifishark to scour the web. Head-fi is really good, amazon, ebay, and even here for making deals on the buy/sell thread
ah my bad then, yeah thats brighter.
also for better results periodically post ISO posts with the price your willing to pay
Got you, I will definitely keep some eyes out, I hadn’t considered used options falling under 300, even though I bought my X2’s used for 90, but the th-x00s look interesting and they might be an option as well.
I hadn’t been keeping track of head-fi or really ebay or the buy/sell threads here, I might have to start watching those as well.
Definitely argons in this case. Cut out the nightowl as you want gaming, cut out dekoni blue as its bright, cut out meze as its not better for gaming than argon, cut out 177x go as its still brighter, leave fostex and e-mu teak incase you can get them cheap
Ah, thank you. I had thought the argon might be the go to option, but I definitely wanted to see if there’s something better out there, cause if I can get better price to performance, I will. If the argons do what I want with the best performance for the price, then I think they’re my go to.
well, there is… just not in that price point unfortunately. I find for gaming $500 seems to be like the best you should be willing to go and no higher as there isn’t that much of a benefit behind it imo less your doing it for the hobby and music. E-mu Teak, Purple heart and other massdrop variations, fostex pretty much in general are bass lovers headphones from my experience but they are expensive, iirc theres a really good bassy headphone from zmf too, T5P from beyer and MMX300 are there too. You also have the Fidelio X3 and SHP9600 coming out soon so do keep that one in mind. If your searching for that gorgeous warm smooth wide yet balanced and punchy sound to a headphone in your price range yeah I would definitely point straight to the argons. T50rp version not the T60RP as thats outside of your budget
I mean I aint gonna say no to using a HD 800s for gaming
Yeah, if I absolutely stretched my budget and bought in a month I might be able to leap for 350, but im unsure that would bring another headphone to the table that does what I want better than the Argons can, especially if I can get them balanced to provide them with more power.
look man, not everyone has just a grand laying around to throw at a headphone. If I had my choice I would upgrade to aeon 2 open for my casual gaming sessions balance it and call it a day. lmfao
but yea I aggree uf your gonna game find something good invest more in your skills and other gaming perpherals like finding the right mouse and keyboard, good monitor, and gpu and such as the well rounded setup for you is the better onvestment
God man, you don’t have an extra thousand dollars laying around to throw at the beautiful Dan Clark? What are ya, fucking poor? Next you’ll tell me you don’t sprinkle edible gold on your meals, what a nerd dude.
T60RP Argons in that case. But I hve no experience with those, supposedly better
lol I know Im jsut saying if someone handed me a hd 800s to game on fuck yeah I will use it one fo the best things Ive ever used for games
I’ve heard they’re basically the same, except the t60 utilizes wood backed cups, which are beautiful, but these cans probably wont leave home, so aesthetics are only a plus, the performance and comfort (which the argons largely have as far as I’ve heard) is the important part to me.
no I argons are a different beast to the t60 rp’s tuned and modded differently the t60 rp basically sounds and feels like an awesome t50 rp mode while argons just kinda sound like a different headphone altogether
Actually won’t disagree on that one… I had the pleasure to try them for a short period. Gorgeous sound off of those and pretty unique.
Hey now, I make use of a DT 1990, T1, Aeon Open X, Nighthawk Carbon, Argons, among a vast majority of other headphones. I would just rather not spend higher than $500 on a singular headphone unless it was solely for music. DT 1990 are a gamers dream headphone, T1 is a laid back variation with rounder bass and higher treble, Aeons are good lord laid back amazing planar and are my number 1 go to headphone of late, hawks are my dark goddess I only pull them out when I get tired of bright headphones, argons are my bass lovers headphone
Oh, i meant the t60rp argons vs the t50rp argons, but I see what you mean.
ah makes sense I woudl aggree as wouldnt make sense for zmf to make them sound sifferent as at the endof the day hes trying to deliver the argon sound
