šŸ”¶ Beyerdynamic T1 Gen2

Ok, cool. Thanks for breaking that down for me. Makes sense.

I read that the RNHP does well with these too, so these are probably at the top of my short list right now.

Is the LP the best hybrid/amp below 400$ to go for with the t1.2nd?

It’s not below $400.00 anymore.

Although there is an open box for $419.00.

I saw that! 800$. I should have pulled the trigger when they had the 290$ sale :’(

I would wait for Boxing Day/Week. Although I think the best you will see is $399.00, which is still a Screamin’ deal for this amp.

Might be selling mine soon

I put some angled pads on the T1.2, sendy aiva pads to be specific, I think I actually prefer angleds on the T1 more than the stock they just feel better and sound a bit better to me. Wish Dekoni had some angleds for this…

Anybody know if any of the ZMF pads are good for this with that angle? Let me know and what it does to the sound. Aivas dialed in the treble a bit but pushed the mid and low presence further forward

Heya, anybody here EQs the T1.2? I tried oratory1990’s harman 2018 target which can be found here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ipqx4n8hpeg952b/Beyerdynamic T1 2nd.pdf?dl=0

It makes the sound fun in a way but completely changes the signature, I think the headphones handle it really well.

Anyway im treble sensitive so I made my own eq settings to tame the highs, so I can listen to this great headphones for more than an hour.

I don’t EQ most headphones but I think these have a lot of potential to ā€œcustomizeā€ the sound.

Just got my hands on a pair. Even without an ideal setup for these, they are very good. Initial impressions are that they feel like an almost direct upgrade to the DT990s with a slightly different tuning (more aimed towards music enjoyment than monitoring / professional audio, but not a huge jump). Running them unbalanced off of a QP2R and a Hugo 2.

can anyone with a standard hart audio cable confirm it fits in the t1s? the entrys are pretty narrow @brux

Also got some brainwavz XL microsuede ā€œas a memeā€ to see if I could turn the t1s into bass cannons, it worked but the mids are sucked out  only good for bass music, not sure if dekoni suedes would do better their FR graph seems to succ the mids too.

There you go! Dual 3.5mm

That new dekonis’ FR chart looks a lot more appealing to me than any other chart they had, so smooth and round (of course the chart is for dt1990 but I expect similar results).

As someone who values the midrange over anything else im buying them rn.

As for the Brainwavz XL, I ended up liking them more than stock so im keeping them on, as a note I don’t EQ them anymore with either pad:

  • Waaaaay more comfortable, also less fatiguing
  • giant pads look very cool on the t1s
  • The timbre changed quite a bit, still bright but way less
  • still v shaped but emphasis now is on the bass instead of the treble, it slams way better and I don’t think its bloated
  • Ifi True Bass now works wonderfully, sounded bad with stock pads
  • Soundstage and dynamics still as good
  • About 20% total detail loss (mids and treble), the laser imaging, accuracy and beautiful mids are still there, but a little bit veiled by the bass.

honestly, I am just concerned on that additional brightness getting added… love the extra bass and mids getting bumped though that sounds awesome.

yep, pads swaps have been kind of a gamble for me, I hope this one will give that ā€œbuttery midsā€ some cans get with hybrids even if its just a little bit, as the mids are already supreme on stock pads

well, I have them ordered… hoping for good results as well

pads came in, listening and impressions of the new beyer pads on T1 and 1990 tomorrow… These pads are comfortable as hell though like… wow im actually impressed… I prefer the feel of these much more over the regular hybrid

Not going to even try putting these on 3rd gen… that things already warm as hell

Yea I ordered the new pads as well on the day they came out but they have not moved since I ordered them. My guess is, when they saw shipping to ā€œTexasā€ā€¦ they were like ā€œhold pleaseā€¦ā€ oh well… I will get them eventually. Maybe in another week.

Yea I’m currently trying to see if they have pads that will fit that gl2k

Yea… I was glad I was able to cancel my order when they gave me a chance due to the delay on the gl2000. I read your review about the headphone and made me a bit glade I was able to do so. When I saw such polarizing views on that headphone… just decided I was going to be happy with what I have. That… and not giving into anymore hype and just watch what folks report about a given product.

Anyway back on topic, I will be interested with your thoughts on the new earpads when you have spent some time with them.

I also purchased the headband. I don’t really have a need for it yet but was curious about the quality of it. Figured at least I will have one when I do need one.
