šŸ”¶ Beyerdynamic T1 Gen2

Love how ridiculously versatile the signature on this headphone isā€¦ it changes alot by setup, pads, filters, and eq just so much more pleasant to listen with than 1990 imo

Yeah it came with the Dekoni Fenestrated Sheepskin but Iā€™m loving the stock pads I kind of want to rock them for a while, let them break in, really get to know them with the stock pads and then change when Iā€™m getting itchy for a change, though Iā€™m told the beauty of the Dekonis is it keeps the same signature while making them more comfortable and making them more airy.

The fens? yeah, they pair well. Though I question the foam cover over the drivers on the dekoni padā€¦

I guess the solution would be try them, if I prefer them over the stock pads, great, if I dont, cut the foam and try again and if I still donā€™t like them call it a write off?

its pretty thin, I wouldnā€™t encourage it if you decided you wanna sell the pads off.

Personally, I find the stock pads to be the least comfortable outside of breathability and I own all the dekoni pad types for my T1. Perf, Velour, Suede, and Hybrid were definitely the best choice imo with perf and velour keeping very close to stock as expected, suede made it heavily bassy, and hybrids justā€¦ unique to put simply

Iā€™m currently in talks with purchasing a used pair of these headphones that have been used for 100hours or so. They look pristine and Iā€™ve not seen any coming up other than these.
Iā€™ll mainly be using them for gaming though. Good purchase for cheaper than used DT1990?

If you donā€™t go with them, send the seller my way.
I canā€™t speak for the comparison/gaming application much ā€” but Iā€™ve been wanting a pair at the right price.

I decided to buy them, I think I got them for a good price really, Originally he wanted Ā£400 for them but they were hanging about so let them got for Ā£300.

Good for you. Your price is right on what Iā€™ve been sticking to (condition dependent).
Hope theyā€™re good for you.

holy shit, a 2nd gen? at that price? Thats one hell of a deal. I do hope the condition is okay thoughā€¦ also do be sure its 2nd gen not first genā€¦ as some people get them mixed up

Yup, I had to buy them at that price. The pictures look in great condition. They were bought on an AV forum I frequent.
He had them for sale for a month for Ā£400 but said would let them go for Ā£300 if gone this weekend.
1st gen has no detachable cables correct? These do.

Yeah, I see 1st gen listed as second all the time (I do want the 1st gen box!). The easy tell is the detachable cables on T1.2 - you got it right.

correct, the two have a separate signatureā€¦ and of course the box is different. Original T1 1st gen was more in common with 1990ā€¦ definitely not the biggest fan of that one personally.

Thatā€™s good to know! Glad I didnā€™t mess up and buy the wrong thing! Looking forward to trying them!

Thanks, I started second guessing myself once I had paid for them.
They look in good condition and not used much according to the for sale thread. They should be with me Tuesday although Iā€™m away from home for two weeks now.

that looks to be damn near Mint conditionā€¦ even the headband isnā€™t showing much use, which is the first thing that seems to show with this headphone.

do keep an eye on that headband for sureā€¦ its big issue is the fault where the stuffing on the sides of the clamp starts to come outā€¦ not sure if its a lack of glue or what it is but to repair the headband is a massive expense.

I did read a thread that you may have been involved in where you were quoted a substantial amount for the repair of the head band. They did look like a rather good example which is why I jumped on them pretty quick.
They are 4 years old I believe but had very little use.

That headband they tried to quote essentially the same price you just paid for that headphoneā€¦ as insane as that is. Though they can just replace the foam for cheaper, well that and you can always cut the foam off anyway if you want to and replace it with something else like dekonis headband(granted those headbands are much thinner on the padding)

Yeah thats right, So it was your post I had read somewhere on here. That is an insane amount just to replace a headband.
Are parts easy to come by for them? I havenā€™t noticed much for them to be honest.

Anyone here can attest to the clampforce of these headphones? Something in comparison like the HD600? I like to bop my head and sometimes headbang (not like hardcore but still) and wondering if these would slide off my noggin when listening, I do have an average to smaller than average like head for reference.
