šŸ”¶ Beyerdynamic TYGR 300 R

Thats pretty vagueā€¦

if the sound is at 100% and not ā€œloudā€ or sounds fairly weak and hollowā€¦ that means your units are not capable of fully driving the Tygr 300rā€¦ itā€™s an old driver so itā€™s rather picky on that.

fiio k5 pro or soundblaster g6 can be found in these rangesā€¦ ifi zen dac as well these will allow you a bit of a future proof option as well as power the tygr. Have not tested it but fx-audio x6 should be able to as well

Thank s a lot, i ll look over suggested options.
Assus sonic studio 3 did raise the volume a bit but i need to hear them louder.

So the MB codec just can t keep up.

Also, there is a significantlly better dac/amp option for a small price increase?

Depending on the board some can drive them fineā€¦ Iā€™d do more digging into the board make sure its not like a specific audio port or something that drives them. In most cases unfortunately tygr is really demanding so you need an amp

The ones listed are above your price listed as is. If your looking for a true future proof option bring the budget to around $140-$200 and get one of the entry level dedicated stacks such as jds atom stack, schiit magni or herest stack, monoprice liquid spark stack

I was thinking about Hel, what do you think, it s a better choice over the magni/mondi stack?

Is it better? No, not in my opinion. Just a good small unit with quite alot of power. Less you really need the space or mic input

No i don t.Got the mod mic, can t be just plugged on the MB? m not looking for a modded mic setup.
I ve read some inputs for the magni/modi, includding yours, i understand that they provide a nice sound, or maybe one of the nicest so for 50$ more ii think they might be the right choice.
However how you would compare this stack against the fiio, i got a pretty decent offer on those, like a 110, what do you suggest.
Mainly Tarcov off cource

Yes modmics can plug into the mb.

Would not compare k5 to magni modi as I find fiio in that range of price not as good.

So, 110 fiio vs 210 magni/ modi it worth the extra 100.Got it.Thank s a lot

Would depend on if you have future upgrades planned down the wayā€¦ k5 can power quite alotā€¦ if your not really going to jump down the rabbit hole and need alot of power and sound quality go with the fiio

As i make my setup for gaming the sound quality should be on this area.
If the K5 will give me the same result as the magni/mondi i preffer to keep the 100 bil to be honest as the future is uncertain by its deffinition. Even go with the G6 if that s make no difference.
On the other hand, if the gaming sound qualitty is pretty much noticeable, i have no other option than to ad the extra 100 or, even go withe jds or monoprice stack.
As you are my main source of information in the audiophile gaming, and also an EFT player, what you would suggest

if upgrades are not planned go with the k5 pro or g6 over magni modi to save money. It should power plenty of headphones just fine. k5 will have better sound quality than g6. Tygr doesnā€™t scale to a high degree so higher end amps and dacs barely make a difference on itā€¦ you only need ample power for it

Will go to fiio route then, thank s again

One more thingā€¦analog or digital input? As i see some debates on it

Eh not sure what you mean there as k5 has a dac which converts digital to analog hence the name dac. No need to over complicate things on it

Not that i have a crush on my onboard dac but some say that the k5 dac, hence being a pretty much neutral, it somehow lacks soundstage.

you get around to this yet?

a dac? Lacking in soundstage? dacs provide less changes to the sound than the ampā€¦ while yea technically it can lack a bit in spatial recreationā€¦ it would be mainly on the amp to provide that not so much in your dacā€¦ though granted yes, the k5 is a bit narrow overall but comparing this to an onboard audio? no competition

Nope cause Dekoni has not shipped the pads yet. I ordered them Feb 22 and they have not moved. I just sent them an email today to find out what is up.

Thank s for feeling me.Again.

Got the k5 pro version. I hope is authentic for the price i got him as i hear now (on high to max sound level) some pop corn popping noises , which i can replicate on 10-40hz range.

To bring things more confusig, the popps are not rythmic in the sound and theyre not present on every song. Also i hear them either as an driver vibrance either as a voltage cranck.

I did burn the Tygr s, for let s say 48h with various freqvency test, also today i ve changed the ki5 usb cable with a longer and golden plated/cooper conductors one, and it appears that the pops becomed less pronounced though i m not sure that the sound level is a little bit lowered after the cable change.Would like to get rid of the pops, that s for sure.

As for the sound itself, without this particular issue, im deffinetlly stasiffied by the sound level the k5 got them, clarity pretty nice too, but here i have another issue as i can t pinpoint the exact sound direction for up/down or front/rear.

I did get the left/right very accurate which also confuses me more, as i m not sure if it s the headset assy or my brain s fault, but on HD800 i hear them more preccisely identified in space.

I ve tryed different bit rate setups - 16 bit/44khz to 32bit/48khz (set by default in windows left/right stereo mode), alo windows and asus sound procesors/ effects, did liked the sonic studio 3 ā€œgamingā€ effect on soundstage but after the k5 swap is not available anymore to check it at high sound levels,

Sound acuraccy of the Tygr/f5 setup is laser accurate, i can distiguish very clear, no matter how far or less away from the mic is, pretty much all the musical instruments, as much as i can on my buddy HD800s, drived by the k5.

As a matter of fact, beside the sound popping and possitional pinpoint, they sound both as much impresiive for me altrough not simmilar, but i feel that wouldn t spare the extra coins for the HD, i f i m able to fix the pinpoint issue.

Pretty much conffused if i might actually need the HD800s, or another dac/amp.

I havenā€™t read the conversation. If you are using a laptop check for power settings. If the laptop is in power saving mode it will cut the usb power for a second making the dac pop

Thank s Alfredo but i m using a desktop.
