Blon 03 hype thread

I think I’ve heard a thing or two about em.

The Guideray Gr-i are much more pleasing from what I have heard, yet still have enough bass to satisfy.

Starfield hype train :stars: :bullettrain_front:

yeah it is a bit bassy for me as well but I don’t mind it being bassy, though lately I have been using my Tin Audio T2 more than my BLON BL-03s and as well as my Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pros.

Actually question on that. How do the t2 compare to the DT 880?

Both are neutral in terms of sound signature, but I think in terms of bass and treble, the DT 880 Pro are much emphasized compared to the T2’s bass and treble. I don’t mind the DT 880 Pro’s so called “harsh” treble since to me it’s not harsh to me at all, while the T2s are more relaxed and chill as neutral as it can be.

It also depends on the amplifier you pair them with. With a warmer amp the treble shouldn’t be a problem at all.

I am using the Topping NX3s and I guess the trebles I get from it are not that harsh to me.

It’s only really harsh to those super sensitive. Or those that are generally beyerdynamic haters sorta like the people who call Sennheisers veiled.

Same ended up liking the tin 2s

Coming from an argon it gets tiring listening to bassy and wide so I like stuff a little more natural and neutral sounding now.

Interesting. Didn’t know that the highs are actually harsher on the 880. Quite intriguing. Thnx for the info

I disliked the T2 a lot, but that is more of a preference thing. I can tolerate extended treble and spikes easier with some bass to compensate. I also tolerate brightness on full size headphones much better than IEMs. The T2 also lacked bass, so it made the treble way more forward sounding than it actually is. I can understand though how the T2 would be liked by many, especially given the price.

i’m stuck between getting these… the tin T2 (or tin T4 if r/headphoneadvice is saying anything). or KZ ZS10 Pro

THE T4 is an IEM I would only reccomend to people who already know what they want. the t2 is good and a more agreeable IEM then the t4 / th ekz zs10 pro for me is also hard to reccomend when the kz zsx exists which to me is a more pleasant IEM. the treble is less harsh on the zsx over the xs10 pro. the t2 is generally the safe all rounder. if you want something fun around a similar signature to the blons the urbanfuns are a good alternative. to all of these.

so Overall: the t2 is the safe bet $50 , reliable , boring for most including me
the zs10 pro: is a v shaped IEM sorta agressive, those who are treble sensitive be warned

alternative to the kz is the kz zsx: sounds moostly the same but the treble is more pulled back, stilla kz though so theb;le sensitive people still be a little aware

blon 03 is the classic recc but has proven itself not to be too reliable with the QC issues and forcing you to but tips and cables the urbanfun YBF-ISS014 is a great alternative, better cables, servicable tips the differences are the they are better extended treble wise than blons. the lower treble and the 8k region has also more emphasis, but not murder but just adds the little shimmer the blons lack but I am pretty sensitive to the 8k region and I find the urbanfuns to me are the threshhold and found they have sometimes passed it but that was mostly due to awful music pairing.

What kind of a connector do I need with these QDC or 0.78?

is the cable really as bad as they say

Don’t know, but if I’m already ordering I might as well grab the cable too. It’s still somewhere in the Tin T2 range with the cable upgrade.

0.78 will work with many other iems in the future if needed. It’s a more versatile cable imo.

Yes especially the ear hooks which leads to lots of fit issues. Just bin it.
