Blon 03 hype thread

here is a pic of the JVC spiral dots I mentioned, these are wide bore, ie from the nozzle is the stem narrow or wider for the front volume of air getting pushed into your cranium .

I think these tips matched well for the blons and the Oh10.

There is also the Azla sednafit tips. Some people prefer them over the Spiral dots and I believe that they are even cheaper.

One warning though, They are 1 size bigger than normal. So if you use L sized tips with others you probably need ML here. (I did the misstake of getting their L sized when I normally use L. But it is a bit too big for me…)

Those look to be wide bore too, I’ll try to add them to the Arsenal since the spirals are basically the only wide bore tip I have the fits great.

Yup they are wide bore too. But without those “dots” in the spiral dots.

How do the soft tips compared to the standard ones?

I’ve had BL03s for about two weeks now and I like them a lot. These really are a fun IEM. I mostly listen to electronic music(industrial techno, house) and these are perfect for that at least IMO. Also I had fitment issues, I even cut off a stem of a random silicone tip get foamies deeper, but then I discovered that I was wearing them the opposite way LOL :man_facepalming:. Flipping them resolved most of the issues, but still my ears start to hurt after about 2 hours. I didn’t even bother with the stock cable, since most people hate it, and went straight for the Tripowin 2 pin.

I didn’t even think about it before, but after watching Josh’s video I have to agree that the S’s do sound really natural, not metallicy or lispy like with some other HPs and IEMs.

They fit me better so I don’t use the standards. You can check on headfi for more specific information on them. For me the tip that fits me the best is gonna be the best one (for the majority of my iems, although I prefer and my favorite tips are the narrow bores like the final type e tips more)

Who gave them permission for a purple version!!! :sob: :sob: :sob:

Will be buying again…

Pair them with a green cable and you’ve got some nice eggplants in your ears.

Now that image is stuck in my head…

I hadn’t listened to my BL-03 in a while so I spent a little bit of time with them yesterday. I still love this little IEM. It has such a fun sound for a lot of the music I like. The detail is just enough, the bass is heavy, and the treble isn’t too harsh (for me). I realized I wanted to get them back into my regular rotation so I decided to fix the thing that bugs me the most about these, the cable. I already have multiple types of tips and an upgraded 2 pin cable on it, but the pins always work their way loose and I really don’t like the way it looks with the exposed connector when it was obviously designed for one that is recessed. So I went looking and found this!

Looks like somebody decided to make an upgraded cable with the actual BLON connector on the end. I went ahead and ordered it terminated in 4.4mm to use with my Hip Dac. I’ll share some pics and impressions of the cable when it gets here.

This is awesome! Thank you for the recommendation. I just ordered two. One gun, one silver both 4.4.

Nice! I’m looking forward to the nice clean look on the BLON. I’m a bit of a stickler when it comes to aesthetics and it always drove me crazy the way a 2 pin looks on them. I feel like it looks unfinished or something. I also ordered some Azla Sedna tips to pair with them which means the accessories will officially cost almost exactly the same as the IEM. I think they are worth it.

You couldn’t post this last November when I got my 03’s? :stuck_out_tongue:

When I got my Blon’s, I ended up shaving down and rounding the edges of the pin connector housing with a nail file to accommodate a QDC cable. It took awhile, but it got the job done. Buying this cable would’ve been a helluva lot easier.

So… fit is janky and wire not great but once you figure out how to stick them in, they… sound really nice.

Good detail. Good punch. I like.

As good as the sound is for the price (insane) my favorite thing about them might be how well they sit in my ears. I have never had an IEM that basically just melted into my head until now, and it’s freakin awesome. They don’t move AT ALL, once they’re in place they stay there until I pull them out, at no point during my use do I have to adjust them, and I have yet to feel even the slightest bit of discomfort from extended listening sessions. I wish my T2s fit anywhere near this well.

I agree with that statement in regards of their sounds, and it is definitely a head melter. Also my T2s and BL03s go toe to toe for I love both sounds, and I had no choice but to use both as my daily drivers, for there are times if I want to relax, the T2s and if I wanted to be more lively and fun, BL03s.
