Blon 03 hype thread

No. Unless budget is a concern, OH10 > BL03 IMO. Better soundstage, earth-moving lowend that doesn’t bleed, better fit (in my ears, anyway). BL03 is far and away a better VALUE, but the OH10 is the superior IEM.

I wanna say the Soundstage is about the same on both, maybe the t2 edges out just barelybut for the most part pretty similar if you ask my ears.

No I would say the oh10 are still the better iem out of the two but price to performance is insane on the blons. Whereas the ikkos you pretty much get what you pay for

Aw that’s kind of disappointing. Was hoping for a wider soundstage. BUT at least it’s not a narrower soundstage!! So that’s great! Thanks for the info!

My understanding is that they are different sounding enough that a comparison would be more subjective. The tuning of the BL-03 is supposed to be very similar to the Moondrop KXXS, so I think it’d be better to say that it might be pointless to buy the KXXS since the BL-03 exists. I ended up getting the BL-03 when I asked m0n what the difference between the KXXS and the OH10 were and from that had decided on getting a KXXS… and that’s when BGGA reviewed the BL-03 and did comparison with the KXXS, so that ended up being a real easy decision on my part. Even though I own the BL-03 I still would like to try the OH10 at some point, I just don’t really see a point in trying the KXXS though.

Further tip annoyance to report. The longer foam tips I ordered came in, and they don’t fit on the Blon at all. Hell, they don’t fit on anything I own at all. They are ISOtunes Trilogy, to let others know so they don’t make the same mistake. They are very narrow inside. Not sure just what they are supposed to fit on. Because I can’t imagine IEMs being so narrow. Oh well, live & learn.

Received my blon 03 like two days ago now, and after testing the tin t2 and blon 03 simultaneously I actually am feeling like the blon has a slightly wider soundstage no? Same earbuds and dac (fiio btr3). Anyone else have opinions on this? It’ll take me a few more days to test and get out of the honeymoon phase but soundstage and sound signature-wise it seems slightly wider and more bloated(in a good way) setting a really nice ambiance

dammit, I am tempted to get them now but at the same time I don’t want to, for I am having that feeling that it might replace my Tin T2s as my main daily driver along with my KZ ZS10 Pro.

Haha it might! It’s complicated because im still messing around with it, spending long sessions with it listening to MULTIPLE genres, artists and all types of voices. And it’s complicated because the sharpness of the detail is technically better on the tin t2 but ive heard many sounds and instrumenta that ive never heard on the t2 or that were simply less obvious because in comparison it feels like the t2 is more DIRECT more shoved up in your face. The Blons on the otherhand feel more spatial with many slow groovy sounds just playing. In addition the biggest thing is that they really aren’t as agressive in the highs as the tin t2s. So i still haven’t come to my full conclusion to share with the group

So after multiple days of testing, and very impartial listening i finally came to a conclusion. Hopefully it helps others decide if they are interested in the blon or not. In comparison to the Tin T2s the blon sounds more hazy, less refined detail-wise but i would not call it dirtier necessarily nor call it so in a negative aspect. Instead the less precice and hazy nature of it gives it it’s own groove that I’ve personally found to help when it comes to jazz, ambiance (nujabes type of shit), rock, alternative, hip hop etcetera. The list goes on and on and the music sounds great, even the pace of the music feels much slower than it does on the tin t2 since it feels like you have more time on each milisecond to enjoy the groove instead of the nice sharp detailed tin t2s. One big downside of the Blons is that music that is recorded with mostly the highs in mind such as alot of current pop (in my case korean pop) straight up loses the impact that the highs would hold and it dosen’t sound bad per say but lackluster. When it comes to soundstage it seems to have a slightly wider soundstage and a very airy one that lets you enjoy music rich in detail. The Tin T2s on the other hand are very nice and sharp, bright and without foam tips less relaxing for casual music listening. I would say that the tin t2s are still better for classical music such as ludovico einaudi, pop and great at every single genre. I don’t think i could choose between the two since they both have polar opposite sound signatures so it’s fun switching around. All in all the Blons have a super fun relaxed tuning that is great for chilling and listening to music while in a traditional sense the tin t2s have a better sharper sound signature.

Nice, well hopefully you enjoy both of them, as it can be nice to have some variety :+1:

Yeah i’m definetly enjoying both and finding time for each. Thanks again for recommending the blon for chilling

That’s the great thing about having all of these low priced choices. You can experience a lot of different sound profiles without spending much.

For sure, it’s nice to hear different sound signatures at good prices. And the higher priced stuff is probably just more refined versions of these, thats where you get into crossroads of how much you are willing to spend

Ok, I just got my BLON-03 and they blew me away, initial impression is Sennheiser HD650, clarity, sound stage, warmth. They blow the T2 away. I put some other silicon ear tips on, but I’m gonna try the Dakoni smalls a bit later and the cable is perfect for my ears (I did order one of the recommended replacement cables on Amazon, but I prefer the stock cable), I think I’m the only one here who actually likes the stock cable. These

No you are not! Lol I also felt like im the only person who liked the cable lol if you look at my review in top of yours i also kept the cable. And yeah the more i use the Blons the more i like them. But one thing that I found interesting is that you said you felt the clarity was better on the Blons than the T2? That’s strange since I actually felt that the tin t2s were much sharper and clear, i agreed with the better soundstage and warmth tho

Is this MMCX or 2 pin?

its a 2 pin connecter, but people hate the cable itself because the bend for the ear is basically 360 instead of partial

Ah cool. I already have a nice 2 pin cable I could use on them. Just wondering if these are worth it over the T2 and ZS10 Pro I already have.
