That is really nice looking!
Pretty sweet. What color combo is that?
Copper and black. I did a silver and black like that, but Aech chose the color combo on this and it looks great. Good choice!
I saw that on your Etsy page. Looks really good. I’m thinking about placing an order. These look really flexible and that’s what i’m looking for.
Question for the DIY-ers in here.
I’m making a balanced headphone cable with 4 wires, but only two paracord sleeves. So each sleeve will have two wires - the paracord will be twisted from jack to splitter, and then each single paracord sleeve will then head to the respective left/right channels.
Should I be twisting the wires in pairs together before I insert them into each paracord sleeve? Or will it make no difference if the wires are just situated alongside each other inside the paracord?
You won’t see difference in performance but twisting can improve the robustness of the cable.
Thanks @elira
I believe twisting can also help reduce interference/noise right? (I’m aware headphone cables are too short for this to be a problem, just building my knowledge of how it all works)
Selling my HD800S and HD650 LQI braided cables. Terminated in 4 pin XLR. PM if interested. Listed on eBay as well.
Uploading a couple of pictures of some cables I did last weekend - a single ended cable for my Eikon to pair with my Raptor and a 4.4mm/2 pin IEM cable I did to teach myself to braid
Looking real slick, I really like the angled connectors, and the color scheme on the para cord style is (the woven cable is pretty great too)
Thanks M0N. Yeah, I quite like making the paracord funky and matching (and you can’t see it properly, but I’ve manage to make the right cable have a tiny little red heatshrink poke out so I can identify the right channel without ruining the look of the cable)
The weaving was a bit of a tough one, I was like “well every 8 year old girl knows how to braid so I’m sure I can learn” but it turns out old dogs don’t like new tricks! It was fun learning though and I’m pretty chuffed with the result
I tried making a braided cable and gave up lol, got too mad trying to make it work
What wire did you use for the IEM cable
Nothing special - as it was my first one I just bought something cheap from AliExpress in case I messed up a perfectly nice cable.
However, it’s turned out really nice and soft (which is just what I wanted) so I’m pretty pleased and happy to link to the cable if you’re interested
That’s why I was interested, I want to put together a braided HP cable with more flex than the usual wire choices.
Sure.
For that build, I used the silver plated copper wire from QYFANG store on AliExpress.
I bought one of the copper, one of the silver plated copper, one of the black “silver foil” and one of the “copper silver mixed”. In terms of general feel, I’d say the sliver plated copper and the copper are both pretty good quality for the bargain price. Next up is the silver/copper mix - a little more stiff than the other two but still feels good. The “silver foil” one is the least nice, a little plastic-feeling, although still softer than the stock cable that came with my 64 Audio U18t. I hate that cable.
Thanks @CapistranoCables. I’m loving the new cable. It’s gorgeous. I like how you blacked out the connectors some look. Pulls it together really well!
On a side note my extra mains from hart came in as well. They work as a good alternative or extra to pair with these Y cables for sure but I love the look of these so much more for sure.
Looks great!
It does. Looking at the picture, it just doesn’t do it justice how good this copper black combo looks.
Looks like something I should’ve paid a lot more for honestly lol, but don’t you dare start charging me more Jason! Lol.
