I do see the ifi idsd micro bl, but it is out of your budget at 4380
I am sticking with portables for now, the x05 plus would be the most impactful option, but would be the least refined option imo. The mojo would be the most detailed of the bunch and most refined I would feel, and the xdsd would be a good balance with the most features, also slightly warmer and more forgiving
Thank you for all the help! I think Iāll try to find a place to try out the recommended. If I canāt I think Iāll try to get the Chord Mojo. Have a great afternoon(or night)!
I just got my closed set back from DCA after realizing that one of the vents had a puncture in the screen material. It had been that way since I got them and I didnāt realize it wasnāt normal.
After not having them for a bit, I really missed these. In the time these were away I picked up another planar. The Diana V2. A cursory comparison: these are not as technically accurate, and lack āfinesseā by comparison to the v2. However, I think the fuller, maybe less accurate sound of the aeon is more pleasing to my ear. For certain the stage the Aeon creates is much larger and placement is easier to pinpoint. These are my go to gaming headphone and the fact theyāre my only closed can theyāre also my choice for isolation.
Just wanted to give a little comparison and say how much these headphones rock!
Did you read the descriptions? They pretty much tell you what they do as well.
As for impressions you probably arenāt going to find any as these are new.
On a side note I love Dekoni and I enjoy pad rolling headphones but Iām not going to pad roll a headphone that has stick on pads unless I have major issues with the stock pads, which in terms of the A2C I most certainly do not. I guess itās nice to have options when they inevitably wear out but in my experience with this hobby the headphone will most likely have been sold on before then.
In the 500 ish range you could pick up something like a idsd micro bl but thatās way larger, perhaps like a hiby r6 pro might be able to push them well but I canāt confirm if you wanted a dap
Iāve been thinking about going the dap route lately for portable and certain use cases at home. Donāt know Jack about them but Iāll start looking into it
Hmmmmm while I donāt think they would be on the same level as the idsd (in terms of pushing the aeon 2), they would give a pretty solid experience imo, I think the mojo actually might do better as it might be able to give more current to the aeon, but the xdsd is a decent option from my experience with the aeon 2. If you get a balanced cable for the aeon 2, you can perhaps grab something like an ifi xcan and while you would just run this from your phone audio it would power them fairly well. I would also give a nod to the xduoo xd05 plus with a burson opamp, as this does a good job if you canāt squeeze a micro bl, but it is almost as large
