Death Metal (recommendations and discussion)

@Antpage2

Most death metal sounds like… audio versions of horror movies. The only horror movies I bought are kick-ass vengeance movies or things like that, so yeah.

Asphyx - Deathhammer
Dismember - Massive Killing Capacity
Unleashed - Midvinterblot
Bolt Thrower - Huh, everything?

Etc. Kick ass death metal ftw, hah.

For anyone looking for good metal bands, this is a great resource, I’ve found some good new stuff.

If you hadn’t noticed yet, I quite like Ola Englund’s music…

Bunch of audiophiles listening to death metal… I love this forum :metal:

One of the joys of metal to me is finding out which band has the worst sound quality… It’s quite fun lol

death metal has to be one the easiest genres for production people to get wrong lol I think tomb mold is an example of it done right

Yeah, there definitely are some that mess up big time.
I’ve personally always hated Cannibal Corpse for this one song… I really can’t stand it!

Though there are ones that really do a great job at it. Feared, as I mentioned above is one of the bands I quite like. These songs are probably my favorite:

Hope you like it!

The worst the recoding gets, the more it starts to sound like black metal.

Damn, I love hammered smashed face

I hate the whole band just because of that one song…

Opeth is still my favorite. Blackwater Park is a perfect album IMO

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement

Mikael Åkerfeldt is a genius IMO

Agreed… peeps who don’t like the new opeth sound are crazy too because it’s pretty great imo

Yes it is…it’s just different. I’m actually more if a progressive and thrash metal fan…but Opeth is in a league of their own

I lean towards trad metal these days… the last warbringer album was quality thrash though :metal:

I am a fan of mostly all metal . The Deftones are still my favorite modernish band. Also huge fan of Danzig, Faith No More and Slipknot. Rush is my favorite classic rock band.

Every metalhead should’ve listened to Blackwater park at least once in their life!

I myself also happen to be more of a prog-nut, but deathmetal is probably on second
