Noooooo! I love the DK-2001 for classic rock. It i the bee’s knees for that genre.
Those 3 peaks looks horrible for anything rock/metal lol.
I used to own DK3001 Pro. Used to love that IEM, although it won’t stand anywhere in today’s time.
That was the best of the old DK series afaik.
Agreed and honestly, That was my first IEM purchase around the 500$ price bracket hahaha.
For rock recordings before 2000, i.e. “classic rock” using the RIAA recording curves at that time?
That Be mid-bass texture, though. Wunderbar!
Well, I dunno about classic rock specifically then but stuff like Linkin park, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Citizen Soldiers, would be terrible for it.
The DiVinci is a mix bag when it comes to rock. In my experience it has worked well with most 70’s rock tracks. With 80’s is 50/50. Then 90’s+ it hasn’t been consistent, and modern rock and metal is tough. This is a subjective opinion so take it with a grain of salt.
Not a fan of those bands per se. I am talking Zeppelin, Jeff Beck Group, Cream, the Doors, Pink Floyd, VH, GnR, Nirvana, SRV, etc.
Genres like rock have instruments that mostly reside in the mid-bass region and the lower to upper treble areas.
DaVinci’s mid-bass is overshadowed by its sub-bass, and the treble doesn’t extend very well. This diminishes the energy of the instruments and prevents them from shining.
Guys my review for DUNU x Gizaudio DaVinci is here. This is a set that I loved from the CanJam days. Loved it!! Hope you guys enjoy the video!! I love this set for its fun, smooth sound presentation. Love the Mid-Bass, vocals, and smooth treble!!
Do share your thoughts about the review though, I am a new YouTuber trying to learn things on the way.
Keep doing your reviews your own way since I really like your enthusiasm.
…and now this:
Just released Meze “Jessica Alba” with DAC/Amp USB-C adapter at $159 enters the fray, doh
Thank You bro. I just feel a little sluggish when speaking in english since it is not my native language haha. Hope i will be better in dialog delivery.
I’ve auditioned the Alba yesterday. It’s definitely an IEM worth considering for the price. It can get a little spicy depending on the source but it was definitely better with the included dongle DAC
Didn’t like the supermix that much, i find it to be much inferior to truthear novas
great review. i got delayed in the production of my video. first my phone got stolen then got a fever and cold. will try to produce and release my video soon as well.
i forgot to audition the Alba.
The Alba’s simulated pinna gain peaks at around 3.5 kHz. This can be sibilant for people with smaller ear canals due to resonance issues. On the other hand, the Alba might work well for people with larger ear canals. The Kiwi Ears Cadenza peaks at around 3.5 kHz as well. The Honest Audiophile replied to me that the Alba would be a direct upgrade from the Cadenza even though the Cadenza has a bit more bass. He also described the Alba as being like a pleasant sunrise in terms of how the Alba sounds.
