You are not a fan of wood grain finish?
It doesn’t suck…
Sorry, I don’t know how a ‘not’ crept into the sentence. It’s one of the best decisions Dunu made. It highly depends on what type of grain you get which cannot be chosen at all which is a downside but if you do get a good grain one, it’s a looker!!
I love the wood grain on the DaVinci for sure…
As far as looks go for IEMs, clear resin and wood grain are tied for the best looking faceplates in my eyes.
Man your unit has such delicate design <3 Yours is probably among the best I have seen so far. Is your white balance of the picture a little on the warmer side? the Yellow looks a bit prominent to me.
Thanks! This set belongs to @Sonofholhorse - needless to say, he lucked out with the faceplate cut of the wood for sure!
the White balance is definitely warmer than neutral on this pic, but not by much.
You don’t like how it sounds?
Curious to know what focal length would allow me to take pics of IEMs? 23mm?
23mm is not a common focal length at all so not sure about that one. 23mm on a crop sensor is equivalent to 35mm in terms of look but not the same when it comes to subject isolation and compression. I use a 35mm 1.4 on a full frame camera, but a 50mm would be ideal for the compression as well as the reproduction ratio, but it all depends on the minimum focus distance of the lens, try to keep that in mind. Nikon and Canon usually have 60mm macro lenses, so I’d go with something like that.
What camera are you using?
Fujifilm xe3. It’s a crop sensor so 23mm would make it 35ish. I also have an 85mm though.
Great camera. I used to have that 23mm. It’s an F/2 correct? Yeah that lens would work fine for you.
The 85mm might be a little too tight, but it all depends on the type of shot you’re looking for.
I’m gonna get the viltrox 23mm, it’s f1.4. though only usable from f2. Yeah I love shooting with it.
When you say only useable from F/2, do you mean due to the sharpness roll off below that?
Woah!! I didn’t like the dark grain but the Left and right pair complement each other with different contrast in your unit.
No, it has hilarious and comical vignetting wide open. And the corner sharpness is bad too.
That makes sense.
I probably wouldnt even mind heavy Vignette and soft corners on product shots
That’s a good point though.
Although I like it too but sometimes I feel they’re not the best representation of how the product looks in real life and sometimes you may end up getting disappointed that the colours are not as saturated in real
