Oooh that’s an excellent collection! Seems like you beat me to a Ripples order I think I’m #010.
I need to sell my S12 and various 2-pin cables as they are just sitting unused in my drawer Keeping the Olina as it offers some passive noise isolation and they are essentially a beater set
Maybe beat you by a day or so - #008 to match my #008 Alpha! I don’t except it to be shipped for a bit though lol - Jim’s probably got a growing backlog of orders from the recent sale
Olina was one of my favorites - kind of want to buy an SE to see how that has changed but seeing as KL can’t even tempt me anymore, I know I won’t listen to it lol. I will have a chance to use KL soon though - it’s been relegated to travel duty with the UTWS5 and I have a trip coming up lol.
Yeah good shout! I’m 80% sure you’ll love the Serratus. My only hesitation is the quantity of bass as I know you’re fond of the FF3. Anyway, I’m excited to hear your thoughts!
Shit I thought ripples are TGXear planars. 300$ is a little steep to be honest, I wonder how would that need to play above Serratus (which I love) to justify the 50% price increase
FF3 is the bassiest bud I own and the only one that’s bass heavy/focused. I mostly tend to like buds that can be described as neutral or balanced or even bright. I highly doubt the bass wil be a problem. I’m looking forward to finding out, though!
I don’t have the Serratus until next week, but I do have a couple pairs of 300ohm buds including one if my DIY sets that uses the same driver as Serratus and they need more than just an Apple dongle or equivalent. Depending on your phone the Apple dongle might get to a listenable volume, but it won’t drive it with the power and headroom necessary for it to shine.
@Kamron_Howard what’s your budget? I specifically picked up a BTR7 so I can run a TGX bud in the future. If you’re willing to part with $200, I think it’s a solid option. Portable. Easy to use. PEQ. More than enough power I assume AND - it has a 4.4mm.
