I listen to mainly instrumental jazz nowadays but I used to listen to a lot of film scores. Apart from some of Hans Zimmer’s scores, I think earbuds are fantastic for film scores!
Looking forward to giving these a go,@Valphonics Mascara
JC…
Oh congrats! They are super comfortable and a very smooth listen ![]()

Cool! Same kind of resonator/tube as AFUL polar night?
Throw a random question in here guys. What would you say are some of the best earbuds that wrap around the ear? Woman picked up the powerbeats pro 2 and they are a world of problems. Anybody got some suggestions?
Do you mean like over the ear style of wearing?
how are you enjoying your Masacara set?
I’ve been a bit busy so ear
review time has been short, however this weekend is looking good so I’ll have more time to give them the time they deserve…I’m looking forward to do a proper A B between them and DX1 single DD’s and all ![]()
Sorry buddy I’ve finally getting some time with this set…lol getting back to buds i’m already loving the open sound stage… It’s tough I love IEM’s and Buds I don’t generally compare the two I just enjoy both for what they do.
I’m terrible, I love so many sets it all depends on my mood and library choices…I’d be a rubbish reviewer, I just get jamming with a set, track/album and where’s the time gone ![]()
More tomorrow ![]()

2 hours in now and Masacara is a bit of a
the mids (not a graph guy) female and above are nice, clear with a nice open stage, timbre etc while the treble is ok but a bit rolled off (ok for me)
Where I do have a problem thought is with the bass, yep it has good bass depth for a bud but it seems to bleed well into the mids, John Martyn’s vocals come over a bit bleared and unfocused and The Prodigy’s break and enter again lacks a bit of slam and control.
So I’d say a good female vocal set that would play well with similar genres but as I said I’m not a reviewer just a guy that likes ![]()

Haha yeah, I really hope they added some bass to the OG EBX25Ti…
how are you finding the Studio, now that you’ve had them for a few days?
Ha funny you posted that I was just thinking about them…
First off is the build quality for the price it’s next level, the fit is also good Im using my usual Nicehck rubber rings and full foams.
I think it’s become my favourite flathead so far, well at least for most of my library. Bass is good more mid than sub like most fh’s but its tight, clean but maybe lacking a little bit of texture but that’s nit picking. Mids are great, vocals both male and female have an effortless delivery with great detail and timbre. Treble never gets too much or on me but maybe lacks a bit of that sparkle but again detail is good (a trade off I guess)
Soundstage is a bit lacking ie it’s in your head ala Senn HD600 but imaging and separation within that space is ![]()
So God’s Tears? I’ve only ever heard one other on that list the Black Dragon Susvara, from memory it’s not on that level but as an allrounder it beats TGXear Serratus and Sunniva, how ever I’d take Serratus over Studio for EDM, Electronica, Hiphop and D ’n B.
All that aside I’d rec studio to anyone looking for a flathead that could/would be endgame, the Flathead Audio team have done an amazing job with this set ![]()

on a daily.
Hopefully more folk especially the IEM crew get a chance to listen to this
set..£60 that’s just…

Haha it is an amazing set! Limited run, maybe get yourself a backup ![]()
