Nice review, but I may still try them out on the Gjallarhorns anyway even though I know it is not needed  . That being said it sounds like I will need to get some listening time in with them on my Vali 3 (which is able to drive his older creations). It will be a little ways off though since I will be getting the open back version first.

I think your Vali will no problem driving these as it outputs 1,5W in 32 ohms.

Now I´ve had a lot more hours on my closed and have a few more observations.

Clarity is really good in all registers, choir pieces are fantastic, there are a little extra energy in the bass/upper bass that for most modern pop/rock recordings is just right. I suspect that most wont even notice it but if your bring out your reference recordings its there.

Comfort is really good with a low claping force.

Horizon Closed: the detail, separation, and imaging capabilities make me feel like I’m wearing different headphones for each instrument. It’s wild and addictive.

Nice to see SJY get more exposure via a higher traffic retailer, but I hope wait times on direct orders don’t end up suffering as a result. I still plan on buying a pair of Horizon Open in the near future.

Yeah, I don’t think this is the last partnership. From my understanding, there may be more. Jeffrey is a mad man. :joy:

If it helps keep the Headphones rolling out, I am all for it.

Noob question here. I was under the impression that any 2x 3.5mm cable will work and I’ve bought some Openheart 4.4mm pentacon to 2x 3.5mm for the Sundara’s and they work fine. Now that I’m looking to order a semi-custom cable, the manufacturer is asking me to confirm the pin-out, stating there are various 3.5mm protocol, eventhough I’ve confirmed with him the 2x 3.5mm with 2 black bands with a picture of the SJY cable and Openheart cable.

Can someone kindly confirm the pin-out for our SJY’s on this diagram? Thank you in advance.

I believe it’s the same as Hifimans pinout which is the most common

The manufacturer insists that this is his hifimen config and that it works with the hifimen pinout. Since the cable is not cheap, I want to make sure it will work. What do you guys think?

It looks like the same 3.5mm connections that are on the cable I use.

In other news my new DAC is supposed to arrive tomorrow, and after I pay that off I will be purchasing my Horizon Open a month or two after that. I need to replenish my bank account a little before my next purchase . I can’t wait to hear Horizon Open on my Mjolnir 3 and Yggdrasil MIB (maybe the upcoming Valhalla 3 as well, but we shall see if it is capable of driving them).

Okay, so after plugging my SN v1 into the MJ3 & Yggy MIB combo, they sound the best I have heard them thus far. Yes, they are detailed enough to pick up on the difference between the BF 2/64 and the Yggy MIB.

Not in the market for another SS amp at the moment, but is anyone else intrigued by this Headphone Power Amp?

The grip on the SJY drivers would be insane if it is really that good.

was a little curious until I saw the price tag :joy:

$2,000 + a quality preamp + a good R2R or MB DAC for best results.

It would be nice to demo it in my system though. My MJ3 on preamp duty paired with the Yggdrasil MIB, and powering Horizon Open.:drooling_face:

I have been seeing the SJY Audio stock selling out, so after seeing that there were only two Horizon Opens left in stock I decided to purchase my pair a few minutes ago.

I will be trying it out on this combo that I played with earlier today.
