Comparison pic with the Tea and FD5. Tea and FH3 would be nice.

Not the B2 at least lol. Acoustic music is not good with it and its poor timbre.

UGHā€¦ OK! Iā€™m leaving them on their cables. I hate taking them off. Especially MMCX. Thatā€™s a big no no!

Hold onā€¦

yeah, no need to remove the cables. I just want to see the body size in comparison to the other.

@Resolution thanks for opinion. Probably the Mangird will be my next purchase. By the way I do not find the FD5 fatiguing at all (maybe because I do not hear it at very high volume).

Oh, it actually looks around the same size as the fh3?!

What about the back(nozzle side)?

I just put them all away. The FH3 I think is quite thin. The Mangird Tea is really curvy. The main fit issue is the insertion depth. The FH3 is very short but is quite comfortable since you can use larger tips and they donā€™t go in as far.

oh well, sent a mail to linsoul asking for a unit. Wonder if they will ever send me another unit after I butchered the Tape pro lol.

The tea does look great graph wise.

Kinda similar to the EJ07 that I was somewhat interested in a while back.

The EJ07 and Monarch have similar tuning especially with the bass and mids being a flat line neutral with the Monarch brining a little more sub bass thunder. I do feel the Monarch bass might be too much with certain tracks, but I love it. The treble on the Monarch is literally perfect. I wouldnā€™t change anything. The Tea would be better choice for someone wanting everything tamed down and a smaller shell size.

I hope you get one. Iā€™d enjoy hearing your thoughts. BTWā€¦ The Tea needed the most break-in of all my IEMs.

Letā€™s hope linsoul isnā€™t like penon that seem to only be sending stuff to their shillsā€¦

Last time I tried to contact penon asking for a unit in the tansio mirai tsmr-4 pro they totally ignored meā€¦ Both by email and headfi pm.

And the tsmr 4 pro turned out to be massively overpricedā€¦

You could try speaking to DENG on the Linsoul forum. Very helpful guy and heā€™s in direct contact with the Thieaudio management. Heā€™s asked them favors for me directly and come back with answers quickly. Linsoul have their act together.

I emailed them and Jessie Li was the one I talked with last time with the tape pro.

Nice. Iā€™ve spoken to Jessie over e mail. Heā€™s the one who reached out to me to offer a special gift for giving them so much business over 2020. Very nice people.

Probably the FD5 because of timbre. I wouldnā€™t go with the Blessing 2 personally, but I did not purchase it because of Rikudou Gokuā€™s comments.

Or you could take BGGARs word for it and check out his tier list. It sounds like his library is similar to yoursā€¦

Check out where that Mangrid Tea sits!

Yeah I saw his list, but he doesnā€™t have the FD5 on it so I canā€™t use it to compare. Also he has the T2 and FH3 very low, which makes me wonder whether we like the same things. I can think of half a dozen reasons why Iā€™d prefer the FD5; the cable, the vents, the fit seems nicer, no long waits, supporting companies selling their shit in EU, easier to resell. But your review, and Beggarā€™s list makes me wonder whether the TEA wouldnā€™t be better.

However Crin only marked these only as a C calling them just short of ā€œwonkyā€. Last time I tried something like that (Gradoā€™s) I ended up selling again within two weeks.

Donā€™t want to speak for him @hawaiibadboy but if I recall, the FD5 didnā€™t blow him away. Definitely not like the Mangird Tea didā€¦ ā€œcertainly better than the U12Tā€.

There is no ā€œbetterā€ only different. Itā€™s all subjective.

It sounds like your mind is already made up. Stop second guessing and just do it.

You canā€™t go wrong with the FD5. For $300 bucks, you are getting a lot for your money and the IEM itself has many advantages over many other IEMs and is a joy to listen to, but nothing is perfect for everyone or every genre of music.

You can always do what I do and buy everything youā€™re interested in and find out first hand for yourself.

Youā€™re probably right and Iā€™m probably heading straight down the rabbit hole and ordering everything eventually, but Iā€™m trying to at least make it look like Iā€™m putting up a fight :stuck_out_tongue:.
Selling off a lot of old stuff at the moment, so I should be able to buy them pretty soon.
He did have them on the ā€œBest of 2020ā€ list where they took 7th place.

RHA filters and tips arrived today. So far, I like what I hear.

Their dual-density tips are really good for comfort, they distribute the weight much better than Spinfits, which I just couldnā€™t wear with these for longer periods.

I donā€™t know whether itā€™s the tips (Iā€™m using the RHA black/bass ones right now), the filter or both, but the bass quality seems a bit better (than the default filter and Sony EPEX tips). The slam is a bit less fatiguing, I think it might be tighter and a bit more detailed at the same time. No treble issues so far either!

Thanks for sharing, looks really like a needed thing for fd5 owners, Isnā€™t the filters reducing transparency and openess of the fd5?. How do you fell? I always look at additional filter with a little bit scepticism. Thatā€™s why i use wide bore (exept really bright or sibilant iems) and everything that is not interupting these qualities of the sound.
