đŸ”¶ FiiO FH3 2BA 1DD

I could compare the FH3 to the OG Andromeda once my pair gets here, but I’m certain that it’s gonna be apples-to-oranges with that meaty DD in the FH3 and upper treble bump in the Andros.

Not screwing around here lol. Also have been selling off some more full size flagship headphones as I get more into iems (and selling off more non audio things). Got a good price from a friend on those, he ended up preferring his 64 audio tia fourte. Also shipping him a magnius and modius in a few days lol (not sure why he wanted them but I’ll gladly let him take them off my hands)

Do you still have your liver? :joy:

Just wondering, you do buy your stuff with your own money and not getting a review unit or something right?

That would make you perfect for evaluating the FH3 vs the super pricey stuff.

Yeah no review stuff, since I don’t do reviews lol. I just try as much as I can at shows and get in contact with dealers and such to make sure I’m kept up to date on what’s good, then go after what I enjoyed. Not affiliated with anyone or anything, just doing this stuff for fun.

Honestly the budget stuff can be more fun than the higher end at times, I just like audio gear in general lol

Exactly. I’m new to the IEM addiction so it would be great to hear M0N’s take on how the way more expensive IEMs compare to the little guys. I really want to know if that much more money equates into better sound or if it’s snake oil.

I just got my FH3 today!!! What a surprise!

It wasn’t supposed to be delivered until next week.

It’s def not snake oil, but there is indeed a point where it’s no longer reasonable to continue, and that depends on the person tbh

Very initial reaction: These are really special, and will displace a lot of my collection.

Ahhh I shoulda ordered it yesterday. Now amazon says it’s in stock 9/1 and fastest delivery is 9/3

UGH! Sorry. They must be selling very well. I want to see the other finishes, although black is by far my favorite color.

There’s other finishes?

Man, when I really give it some thought, the FH3 probably doesn’t make a lot of sense for me. I’ve been kinda sorta looking around for a “beater” set of IEMs (in the, say, $50-$60 range) to use with my re-discovered old setup of Macbook Pro > 1stGen Meridian Explorer > Headstage Arrow 4G. It’s a setup that I just won’t use very often, tbh.

Based on my needs, the FH3 (+ new cable as it sounds like the stock one is kinda awful) is actually way more than twice as much as I intended to spend. But dang
even someone as cynical as me can’t overlook the growing consensus that the FH3 are all that. Maybe they’d be good enough (with new cable) that I wouldn’t need to shop anymore for a mid-priced ($300-$750) IEM.

The stock cable is 100% completely functional. It’s not as nice as the FH7 cable or other Fiio products. It’s stiff, sorta like the Focal cables. I would have been happy to pay more to get a cable like the FH7 packaged in with the FH3 but the stock cable is fine. The FH3 deserves an awesome cable.
