Arrival is Sundayā¦maybe lol!
Hey guys, unfortunately I have to report I am without an FH3 at the moment. This morning I freaked when I put them in my ears and they sounded bad. Channel imbalance (center position shifted to the right) and the bass was no longer the way it originally sounded. I swapped cables, tried them on different sources, tested other IEMs and headphones to make sure it wasnāt my dac or amp. Everything else was fine, the FH3 failed. I had the same issue even with cable swaps.
This SUCKS!
OUCH! Where did you buy it from? Hope you get a replacementā¦
I got it from Amazon. They are completely out of stock. I would have had to go through Fiio to get a replacement. I just sent it back.
I will order another one from Amazon when they come back in stock.
I also sent the Fiio LC-RE.
I have a feeling there was a problem with the MMCX connector on the left side. The stock cable would make a click when connected on both the right and left sides. The LC-RE cableās MMCX connectors were insanely tight! Even for an MMCX connector. I could not get the left side to click in and it did not appear to be as seated as the opposing side. Both sides were very hard to even turn when attached but the left side was almost impossible to turn with my bare fingers.
Damn sorry to hear that buddy ā¦ time to break out the trusty IT00ās?
Hey, it is what it is. I think Iāll be ok for a while. I have quite the stockpile of stuff to listen to. Damn that FH3 sounded good tho!
This is why I advice to not change the cable that much on the FH3. IT IS SUPER TIGHT!!!
Makes me really afraid of breaking somethingā¦
Edit: NVM I didnāt pay attention to the step 2.
Ah, youāre right. I didnāt pay attention to this, yeah, it looks kinda bad if they ask you to do that.
If they removed the underlined words it would have been much better.
But this is openly asking people to write them positive reviews, which to me sounds like they dont have faith in the iem itself.
Fortunately the iem is great, but this still leaves a bad markā¦
That sucks.
Wondering what could have caused that out of the blue, though? Maybe moisture build-up damaged the driver? It doesnāt seem to be a faulty MMCX issue. I hope youāll get your replacement ASAP.
Thanks. Iām in no rush. Iām just getting refunded since Amazon is out of stock. I advise if you want an FH1, to get it from someone who has a reputable seller.
I break in my headphones & IEMs overnight, night after night until around 100 hours. I have a feeling I might be pushing them too hard for too long. I have no issues yet with the IT00 that ended up having similar issues.
None of my other IEMs have had any issues other than these two. In the future, Iām going to skip such an intense break-in. The playlist is also designed to challenge the IEM technically.
That sucks. Iāve been kind of afraid of cable swapping with these since I got them because of how insanely tight the connectors are, I have been wondering if repeated swapping is doing damage. Now Iām even more nervous.
Sorry. I donāt mean to give anyone anxiety about their FH3. Just sharing my experience. Something else might be causing the issue. Who knows. I hope yours is issue free. I have no issues with my FH7 at all. Itās been great. Iām going to get another FH3, I love it.
My current go to are the Ninetails they tick nearly all the boxes for me but I have a big issue with their fit (nothing ever feels quite right) Iām always messing around trying to get them to feel right and I think much is down to their letās say quirky design. Can anyone draw a comparison at all with the FH3. Iām pleased with the Ninetails but the Hype surrounding these FH3 is sucking me in haha.
Can someone compare FH3 to BGVP DM6 ?
Looks like I am joining the dark side everyone. My H40 decided to die on me, the right earpiece was continuously cutting out.
So now I guess the option is to get a FH3, the money I will save will go on a modular cable.
I am in talks with Hart at the moment as to designing it, but if anyone has any good recommendations of an MMCX with swappable terminations do let me know!
Thereās a cheaper one available: the DUW-02 (I believe is the stock cable for the DK-2001).

I have a pair of them in MMCX & 2 pin configurations, and itās a very recommendable cable.
Very supple and comes with the same modular plug system of its more expensive brothers.
