BGGAR rates the FH3 an A.
That he puts the urbanfun above the FH3 is beyond meā¦
But who knows, we might have different drivers
Itās possible with the QC on that Urbanfun.
Personally, Iād rate the FH3 where he has the Blon. The Blon is an incredible IEM for its price.
I love the it, but I donāt think itās in the same league as the FH3. Its tonality is very well tuned but the low frequencies are sloppy and not well controlled or defined compared to better IEMs. If I could only listen to either the Blon or the FH3 for the rest of my life, it would be an easy choice. FH3.
Personally, I didnāt have any issues with the sound of the FH3. I fell in love with it. My replacement should be here next week. I miss it.
Hi guys, just signed up.
I ordered a set from AliExpress following all the good reviews Iāve been reading. Shipped yesterday, excited for it to arrive.
Also picked up a KBEAR 16 core 2.5mm balanced cable to run it off a BTR5.
The only IEMs I own currently are the aging Sennheiser IE80 and the Lypertek Tevi wireless earbuds, so Iām interested to see how they compare. Never tried a balanced armature or hybrid set.
Enjoy and welcome to HFGF
Welcome. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Would love to hear your reactions once youāve had some time with them.
Hmmm Lz A6 tier D
yeah, I have no idea how the A6 is below the mini.
I just assume he has some qc problem or something on hisā¦
I still think the FH3 is a special IEM. It is excellent sounding, with a lot of strengths, and probably more importantly, few weaknesses, but surprisingly, I think Iām gonna return mine.
I already have too many redundant IEMs, and as great as the FH3 is, it doesnāt do anything for me that my other ones donāt do. My rationale for returning the FH3 also applies to the IT00, and thus, Iām probably gonna return that.
The other big aspect that has me wanting to return both is driver flex. While I can insert the IT00 carefully, and not get driver flex, itās a pain to always have to do so, and if I bump it, crrrrrrinkle. I actually get even more driver flex with the FH3, but it doesnāt sound nearly as bad.
Itās not so much a money decision, but I think it will really annoy me to have so many great IEMs that just sit in a drawer.
I get into these moods as well where Iām feeling I clearly have only a few IEMs I really want to keep and should just get rid of the rest.
I did this exact same thing, only with an item usually much more expensive than IEMs. Guitars. I have bought and sold so many guitars it would make your head spin. Anywayā¦ Many of the guitars I decided to sell at the moment, I usually deeply regretted later on in life. Especially the Ibanez signature John Petrucci black & white JPM model I had. Hey we all make stupid decisions.
IEMs donāt appear to hold their value or increase it from what Iāve seen as most tech based hobbies donāt. I think if I was spending a lot more money on IEMs than I currently am, Sony IER-Z1R and up, I would take the investment more seriously to even think about taking the time to resell these things. I enjoy having them in my possession as a collection more than anything.
As for the FH3ā¦ I have a bunch of IEMs that I could replace with the FH3. I think I personally enjoy the FH3 more than anything I currently have. The Mangird is a nice, ābrighterā alternative to the FH3. The H40 is probably the IEM that I could do without in my collection. I just prefer the FH3 much more for the majority of my music although their FR is quite similar.
The H40 is quite an exceptional IEM, or so Iāve read. Based on your preferences, you like the FH3 more, and find the H40 redundant. This is how I feel about the FH3. There is really nothing wrong with them, and very little I donāt like about them (namely driver flex), but they just happen to be redundant for me. I like collecting things also, way too much actually, but now my collection is getting a bit ridiculous in size. I like the FH3 a lot more than many IEMs in my collection, but I canāt return any of them.
I feel the same. As a Fiio fanboy, Iām glad people are enjoying these, but I think it would be a bit redundant to own since I already have the FH7. Iāll just save my $$ for the next redundant thing that releases next week (if I decide to pull the trigger). Iām not really down with the maniacal spending on things that may or may not sound marginally better than what I currently own. Thank god for Amazon that allows me to purchase and return things when I get curious.
Heh, be careful with the ātry and return to Amazonā thing. They have their limits, as my gfās brother found out last year. His account was suspended for too many returns.
I like the FH3 a lot more than many IEMs in my collection, but I canāt return any of them.
Well, you know, you can sell them too.
Very true, but Iām terrible at selling thingsā¦just way too lazy to.
Given how much my household buys on Amazon, and how rarely I return things (almost always defective), I certainly hope Iām in āgood standingā.
HAHA, Iām really really close. As a habitual returner, Iāve already been asked 3x why Iāve purchased and returned so many items. I havenāt been suspended ā¦ yet. However, Iāve been on Amazon since their textbook selling days, so Iām thinking that may have something to do with it.
What kind of items was your gfās brother buying and returning? Is he a Prime Member?
Makes total sense especially if you guys have more expensive IEMs or IEMs you guys simply enjoy more. Totally get it! Iām a headphone guy, been a headphone guy for a long time with the idea that I could not weat IEMs or that I would always get an ear infection when I put them in my ears. I also thought they sounded horrible compared to headphones (because I never experienced an IEM with a good seal).
After the Tin T2 (which I couldnāt get to stay in my ears, let alone seal) I swore off IEMs forever. When the Starfield came around and all the reviewers I trusted were calling them āgiant killersā I decided I needed to give IEMs one last shot. I was blown away with the Starfield! The bass I craved in headphones was present in spades with the Starfield. This changed everything for me.
Ever since this discovery, which wasnāt very long ago, Iāve been obsessed with learning as much as I can about IEMs and trying to find out what I like. Iāve done the same thing with headphones. So what Iām trying to say is that the IEM chase for me is still new. I still get excited when I hear something new that is even better for my preferences than an IEM I already have.
What Chocolate_Bear says makes a lot of sense. Now that I have IEMs I enjoy in the lower tier, FH3, FH7, Mangird Tea etcā¦ I can start figuring out where to go from here. Maybe the next step would be something like the Sony IER-Z1R, Thieaudio Clairvoyance or Monarch, but Iām not in a rush since Iām really enjoying the IEMs I have now.
Iām pretty sure he was a Prime member; seemed like dude was returning something every other week. I THINK the final straw was when he returned 4 LED tvs (each costing well over $1,000) over a 30-45 day stretch.
The guy is just one of those people. Everyone/everything is here in the world for his convenience. Heās a classic narcissist, I think. Zero self-awareness, inability for self-reflection. Of course he was appalled by his account being closed. He couldnāt see his role in that happening. Pretty typical of him.
Ooo Iām thinking bout picking up the z1rās too. Just hesitant on the size factor. I should visit an audio store nearby that has a demo unit. Wonder how it compares size wise to the blessing 2 since those are pretty big yet fits me perfectly
IER-Z1R has been on my list as an end-game IEM for a while. I too need to somehow try them to see how they fit me.
