🔶 FiiO FH3 2BA 1DD

oh, seems you already got the answer here lol: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/fiio-fh3-2-ba-1-dynamic-driver-hybrid-earphones.938384/page-10#post-15837339

My friend baskingshark is basically saying the same thing. :joy:

My FH3 arrived today and I’m really impressed. It has extreme built quality and the accessories are really nice too.

The sound is really good, way better then the L3 that I have and definitely a improvement over my BL03. Well, the BL03 is really good, but it’s hard to compete with the beryllium DD and dedicated BA drivers. For sure I’m gonna keep this set.

Do you guys noticed any improvement of the sound over the usage? Fiio recommends to burn in the FH3: https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/428901.html

I’m using the stock ear-tips, the black and red one. Any suggestion of an ear-tip that would give me more bass?

Also, suggestions for the cable? I actually really like the cable and I don’t mind balanced cables as I’m using this directly at my Macbook or my audio interface, Scarlet 2i2 but because of the rigid ear hook it’s not quite comfortable for me.

Fiio has some official/authorized stores in the EU. I got my FH3 from https://fiio-shop.de and it has free shipping. I ordered on Saturday, it was shipped yesterday and I received today, Ireland.

I’m so happy to hear that so many of you are enjoying your FH3. Would love to hear all of your thoughts once you’ve had a lot of listening time with it and maybe had a chance to compare it to other IEMs you have.

Again, congratulations to all of you and welcome to the party!

Final type E tips are great at highlighting the bass strengths of the FH3.

n00b here. I only have a handful of IEMs and headphones worth talking about here, recently getting into DACs and amps and all of that. iFi ZEN DAC driving this. FH3 is bringing out details light years more than the ER2XR, really my only IEM comparison. Talk Talk - Runeii has a distant percussion and a guitar playing off beat behind the front and center guitar. Those come alive on the FH3, including some acoustic guitar strumming (tuning?) for just a second. Best example I’ve seen so far. I’m quite astounded by these.

These IEMs do not suck.

it’s finally here! listened to it for the day, really liking the detail and bass. i’m a grad student so i actually needed a everyday carry pair of iems, and these fit the bill perfectly. the small size makes it extremely comfortable to wear for an entire day.

That’s great to know…i’ve been waiting with baited breath for them to be launched in Europe/UK and have duly ordered a pair from the same shop.

I’ve been waiting to bite the bullet on these IEMs and reading the extremely positive feedback on this thread.

I will be interested to know whether the stock cable will suffice or i will need to acquire a new cable with a 4.4mm to run them balanced to get the best out of these (i think i already know the answer to this!

I would get one of these cables, cheap, high build quality and measures (the Faaeal at least) great:

Thanks for the link but i have already earmarked a cable. I have the 2 pin equivalent which i use on my BL03s and the quality of both the cable and sound is extremely good :ok_hand:t2:

That one is ok. But those 3 are cheaper and a bit better. But if you already have that tripowin cable then thats fine.

Just found this one which is 16 core but a similar price to the Tripowin cable so i will probably get this one, it’s got excellent reviews :+1:t2:

Yeah that KBEAR cable is the one I bought. Liking it quite a bit. The connectors are metal as well, suits the FH3 design.

Went back and compared my Sennheiser IE80 - no contest. On the IE80, bass is muddy and slow, mids are non-existent and the treble gets shouty and painful. It does sound a bit warmer which I suppose one could enjoy but it’s nowhere near as engaging a listen.

Yes… These’ll tide me over for a year or two and then I’ll see what’s available at the high end.

Aliexpress: Due to the strike of Brazilian postal, parcel delivery service in Brazil might delay 7-10 days. Thank you for understanding.

I want my FH3 soon… NOOOOO! :pensive:

Ha ha. No one should take my advise. I’m new to the IEM game and just can’t get enough. I am audiophile that gets excited when I get to experience something that I feel makes my music sound special. I try to help others by explaining what I hear the best I can. I hope others with more experience can do the same for me, such as yourself. Thank you Rikudou_Goku for all of your help and suggestions!

I’m looking for an IEM that is very easy to drive since I’m only using a mediocre phone as source. This would be my first “serious” IEM upgrade. Yes I know that better sources give you better sound but as of now I’m totally broke lol. After this upgrade I’m gonna buy a better source probably a LG V50 or USB DAC. Is the FH3 exactly what I’m looking for? Or should I look for something else? My preferred signature is L-shaped.

If you want to save money, my suggestion is to buy the Fiio FD1 now.

Take a look at this ranking chart especially if you’re budget minded. Notice where the FD1 & FH3 are ranked. You’re welcome.
