I think the hype fits if youāre hyping the right aspect of them. For me, someone who chases fun signatures rather than analytical ones, but still wants enough technicality to feel that Iām getting everything I need to out of my music, this is damn near perfect. Iām not saying you canāt do better in that area, but I put these in and canāt pin down anything that they arenāt capable of doing that I feel that I need.
I know if I looked hard enough or jumped price brackets I could probably find something that scratches that itch better but I donāt feel any desire to do so and that says a lot.
Also gonna add that Iām a headphone guy, have been for some time now. I have been listening to these rather than my go-to headphones since I got them. I have never done that with an IEM. I normally give them a test drive then they go into the āportableā pile. Iām listening to these at my desktop setup almost nonstop.
Hype is a weird thing. Of course, buying these not going to give an upgrade like going from an old 64kbps MP3 ā FLAC. Yet thatās kind of what hype leads one to expect, and one comes away initially disappointed, or at least I did. But this is a solid earphone and I wouldnāt consider exchanging it.
This is what I like about them, too. It shouldnāt be a reason for hype, just a solid recommendation, if one thinks rationally.
Not who you were asking but I tried those myself and found them to be a poor fit all around. Because these are shaped sit so deep in your ear, adding a ton of of extra length with those tips pretty effectively ruined how they were seated and that was a deal breaker on its own, but I didnāt like what they did to the sound either. There was a pretty substantial change, more so than any other tip I tried with them, and none of it was good imo.
Been giving the fh3 some more time for settling in, any treble harshness is pretty much gone for the most part, but the deep bass is still not doing much for me, i still feel itās too over powered, that combined with the fh3 lack luster stage and just ok seperation, i just canāt unhear the bleed in. But i recently got the lz a6, on @Rikudou_Goku suggestion and yea different price points, but the a6 has a much better detailed presentation and wider stage. The bass hits low but its more detailed and separated. The highs and mids are much more forward and lush than fh3, though i get more high harshness from the a6, but maybe some more brain burn in will fix that. Seperation and imaging is much better on the a6.This is with the pink filter on the a6 fwiw. Both iems are decent at their respected price points. At this point in time, i feel the fh3 will be going back to Amazon, unless anyone is intetested in buying from me?
I dont think the A6 treble is actually harsh. It just has a ton of quantity that it can overwhelm you.
Think of it like this.
Bad treble = poison
Good treble = water
but drinking too much water can also be dangerous, the A6 is something like that. It has a really good and refined treble without any particular peaks but it has a TON of it. (depending on filter of course.)
Seriously though a good treble response can make or break a set either itās or a lot of this can come down to source and tips etcā¦but I do like a rounded forward treble,ā¦making for fun and detailed entertainment
I just got the fh3 and Iāve noticed that on iems that I feel like bass is a little bit more to the right for me. I donāt know if anyone else experiences this or if Iām just partially death in my left ear. This only happens with my iems, when using headphones bass is in the center of my head. Unless it has to do with imaging or soundstage. Just wondering, I donāt think my iems are defective or anything, music still sounds good and vocals are still in the middle of my head when listening, itās just bass but this happens with every iem I own. Any info would help. Thanks in advance to who responds to this potentially dumb question.
it could be the level of seal you have or how deep you have one inserted and the other is not the same etc. If you change the front volume of air it can affect the drivers ability to push lower frequencies. I have noticed the same thing once and a while with multiple IEMS. Also the only hearing discrepancies I have noticed are in the 16-17k area for me where it seems like my ears are not 100% getting all the info etc. That was on a sign sweep btw.
Ah ok. Iāll try the tip suggestion for now see if it helps. The current tips I use are the symbio w ones where its silicone and foam and I use dekoni foam tips as well. Have any suggestions as to which tips I should try. I donāt really have that much info on tips and thanks for the help.
If your having issues with seal then the Xelastec are the best sealing ones I know for that, you can try final type E too and change sizes until you get an equal response from both ears, one may be better sealed than the other and thus the imbalance.
Iām in love with these iem. For the price it costs, it really is a great investment.
(iām not an expert in this world)
Starting with the bass that are addictive, they manage to be intense, fat, clean and rich in details. They do not affect other frequencies in a negative way.
The mids are correct and sweet, they will never attack your ears, im falling in love with the female vocals.
The treble are present, even though they are very thin, they are not lost at any time.
It is not a very three-dimensional iem, but this is not a defect, it is a matter of taste.
