uhmm… does fh3 have different mmcx connection, trying to connect it with trn 16 core cable but it wont go thru…the tip is different compare to the original mmcx…
I also had a hard time disconnecting the stock cable and replacing it with a new one. Most mmxc IEMs don’t usually have such a secure fit haha.
bruh heard that they had sent you the thor, how does it compare?
excuse me,
you could slay a giant titan but having a bad time putting some connector?
dont wanna break things that cost 25% of my salary…
lol, to be fair the mmcx connector on the FH3 is very tight. Also felt like I was going to break it when I detached the cable on it.
I’ve heard good things about the Fh3 and you seem to really enjoy them. Have you tried the blessing 2? Just curious. I’m looking to upgrade to a somewhat affordable iem.
what is your current iem?
I just use the tin t2s. Mostly use the porta pros on the go. Just looking for a better iem, but nothing crazy expensive.
From what I know about the T2’s (never owned them) they’re more of a neutral sound compared to the FH3. The Blessing2 would definitely be the upgrade to the T2’s (again just from what I know of the T2’s). The price jump might be a turn off since you would be spending $300+ for the Blessing2 and fit might be an issue as their shells are fairly large. The FH3’s are definitely a great option if you want a different but really good sound.
I just got the Moondrop Starfield, and just like the CCA16, I get a hotspot in my ear (bottom part of my ear).
How do these fare in regards to comfort?
The bottom part of the outer ear? I had that as well, but it went away. Possibly because I switched back to the stock cable with a nicer ear hook, or possibly I got used to it. I went from struggling to wear them for an hour to wearing them for four hours without issue. Took a week or two.
Yeah, the anti-tragus. That’s what I figured, I’d just have to wear them enough for it to not irritate me anymore. It only bothers me on the right ear. I’m just getting back into IEMs after a few years. I just tested the teeny tiny RE400 and RE600s so I may have to adapt to bigger IEMs.
Size wise, is there much difference between the FH3 and the Starfield?
Update: I’m gonna give them 1-2 weeks, if my ears don’t adapt I will sadly return them. This means I may pass on the FH3 as well, as they look about the same size (the wide bore also bothers me on the right ear). I think I may have to finally step into customs, my ear shape hates chi-fi.
It was my right ear too! It was getting to the point where I thought I would have to sell them and get something else. Then it vanished.
No idea about the size though.
Fh3 actually quite slim…if you can have tight fit it wont even touch that anti tragus…
Things have been busy so haven’t had as much time with the sets as I’d like. But based on what I’ve experienced so far, Thor is an enjoyable set especially if you have music that plays to its bass/lows strengths. Bass is potent, and if you like to eq or bass boost, then it definitely scales in an epic and fun way. Compared to the FH3, Thor is warmer/slightly darker in the rest of its presentation. Good mids just like BGGAR said.
While there is something special about the Thor bass, I lean towards the FH3 because of its overall presentation and detail. It has enough of everything to be engaging. Keep in mind that the FH3 is a hybrid and will naturally excel more in certain areas compared to the Thor.
Not sound related, but FH3 metal build also feels sturdier. And I’m very confident my MMCX cable will never separate from the IEMs
hey guys!
got these today
question
is it OK to have noise even when music not playing (after 15 second noise left but when I start a some somng it returned)? have it only on laptop
Have you tried it on another source? Could just be the laptop
