Assuming you didn’t move on from the Clears yet, I just wanted to remind you that we are still waiting.

Haha. Thank you for keeping me honest.

LCD-x vs Clear is pretty apples to oranges. LCD-X is everything I mentioned in the post above, and don’t have to be Audeze bass heavy- when EQ’d can sound pretty flat, tonally. The Clears are ruler flat to my ear without EQ, but without the bass extension. Bass extension and impact is, of course, the biggest difference. The LCDX are huge planar drivers and so Excel in this. The Clears are not bass lite, far from it. They have great bass and certianly thump, but not like an Audeze. Some complain of a metallic sound with Focals, but I experienced that as precise, not metallic.

They both have a narrow stage- they both present sound from immediately by my temples to right in front of my forehead. There’s no ā€œforgetting you’re wearing headphonesā€ with either.

The Clears are unmercilessly faithful the the source, and those looking for a nice velvety pleasure listen need not apply. One enjoyable benefit is you can really ā€œhear the roomā€ in studio recordings. This also adds to layering and separation. Each instrument is distinct with its own ā€œchannelā€ into my awareness. This is probably what I enjoy most about the Clears.

The LCD is a little more forgiving. This might mean less detail, but I’m not entirely sure about that. They certianly don’t provide the utterly complete seperation that I describe above. They are good in this respect as good as other headphones in the $1100 range, but not like the clears.

Overall I’d say that they are so different that they are excellent complements, rather than competitors to a space in someone’s lineup.

That’s awesome to hear that they compliment each other well. Looking to buy a lcd x sometime this year. Thanks for your comparison.

Good thing the rnhp pairs well with the LCD x, so you are set for amps lol

I think I have finalized that I have a pair of clears for sale that have been owned for only a couple of weeks, and probably not used enough to even burn them in at this time.

Anybody familiar with the market and what I may want to list these at?

Can’t return them?

It’s kind of a weird story. I’m not the first owner, but the first owner legitimately didn’t even take them out of the box. Not a single wrinkle on the headband. They were literally untouched, and now since I’ve owned them none of the cables have ever been taken out of the box. I had my own 3.5mm mono cables.

Maybe I’ll list for 950 then since it’s corona days.

I’ve sen a few go up the last few weeks in the $750-850 range but that’s extremely rare and probably won’t be normal. I got mine for a little under a $1000

Okay guys Im finally doing it if anyone is interested in a reliable pair of very lightly used Clears here’s mine: https://www.ebay.com/itm/254545679128

And as long as I’m shamelessly self promoting you guys should also check out odysseychocolate.com for some of the best top tier Chocolate in the United States made by a studied bean-to-bar craft chocolate maker.

Wouldn’t normally plug like that but all the places where I normally sell are closed to the public and I’m trying to make rent. Sorry mods. I’m trynna stay alive :joy: Otherwise I’d probably just keep the clears too… Their timbre is hard to part with…

Hey guys, I’ve managed to join the Focal club with my new to me, RED clear’s :hugs:
I want a replacement cable, the short one is too short and the long one too long. It’s janky as fuck, i could probably heat the jank out but I would simply prefer a new 5 or 6 foot cable. Can someone recommend something I can get my hands on before the Corona kills me please :zombie: :woman_zombie: ? (I estimate a few weeks at best according to the clusterfuck I see heading our way)
Nothing too pricey, I really just need something that works, I’m not trying to squeeze Angels out of these, they sound good enough as they are.
