I thought about ordering the Hart, I just don’t feel like waiting weeks and weeks. I think I’m just gonna amazon these so I can have them in hand by Tuesday or so. Then I can take my time and decide on something nicer afterwards.

hey guys, quick question, the Focal clear has dual 3.5mm connectors with a single band, which as far as i can tell make them MONO.
the Hifiman that have dual 3.5 mm connectors have the normal dual band.
is this basically the same connector and can be interchanged?

Yes you can use the ts and trs 3.5mm and have no issues

I hear you on the bass but the hd800S does it well but not great. Just enough at times tho. It can slam if it needs to. More on a tube tho.
It just works and your brain gets used to it. Well mine did lol. But the clears wake you up when you hear them lol

That’s a tough one. Give the Clears at least a week and see from there.
It’s (800’s) use on a tube amp may be a bigger difference overall than the Clears general performance. Especially if you’re getting/have the Verité.

I also noticed that I can’t play the Clears as loud, otherwise it’s fatiguing or down right hurts (regarding highs and congestion).

Yeah I’ll definitely give them time. When they’re on my head I really enjoy them. It’s only when I’m A/Bing with the hd800S I noticed little things. Mostly the hd800S soundstage and the separation but the timbre goes to the clears. Again more time and we’ll see.
I thought I’d like the aeon 2 closed more than the elegia and the aeon 2 closed are now gone lol so I’ll listen to my own ears.

When you say you get congestion have you A/B with another headphone like the LCD-X? Sometimes certain tracks do it and working from memory can fuck with you.
