@Lel I had really good success with dish soap (because degreaser) and warm waterā¦ I too bought a set though 
Nice, so you didnāt have to use the french soap lol. I was lucky I never had to wash my pads yet, the last owner I got mine from really kept them well. Even the plastic wrappings around the connectors were still there for me to peel. Lol
Although the bigger concern for me is the headband since it doesnāt seem like thereās an easy way to get them replaced.

I actually did buy the French soap for the headband lolā¦ as far as ive read they canāt be replaced unfortunately

I recently, somewhat unexpectedly fell into owning a set of these. They were open box and have a rattle in the left ear. I contacted the amazon seller and he said focal in Canada was going to ship me a brand new pair. Seems like a great deal, anxiously awaiting their arrival. Seems a little odd this would happen but I doubt there is some scam happening here.
The sound is quite good, I didnāt think a dynamic headphone could complete with the detail I have come to expect from planars. Theyāre currently running off a thx789 which is tamed and sounds nice with a modius dac. Eventually this will be a bifrost 2 and a Violectric v280, but thatās about a month away.
I was not expecting to like these headphones as much as I do. Though my relationship with the brand goes all the way back to my youth in car audio. Iāll admit to wanting to like a Focal offering, glad I decided to give a dynamic headphone a shot.
I also watched zeos review these. Iām wondering if his ears actually work at all, because he is super far off on these. He really wanted people buying the drop for the Elex, so maybe that had something to do with it.

So you are sending back your defective pair and getting a brand new replacement?
Yes, Iām waiting on the replacement, will inspect and probably check the serial number somehow, and then send the defective pair back

Iāve been lucky enough to get a pair of Clear proās for the week and i know they wont leave anymore 
Think iām in love here and probably will keep them.
Is there any amp that has the clarity of the RNHD and the Lake peopleās G111 soundstage?
Yes, iām already thinking of the next step. Right now i just have the Hiby R5 single ended and if i could add anything would be a tad more of āclarityā and bit of soundstage - just a bit
