Yes, the clear is something you get used to and then appreciate. Itās not as much immediate wow as the elex (and even that takes time for some people lol)
Also if I want to wow someone I just let them pick what they want to out of what I have lol. They can go and try what they want to try
Honestly, Iām hoping they arenāt THAT Much differentā¦ the Elex is pretty close to perfect to my preference at least tonally and imaging. If the Clears can clean things up a bit, I wouldnāt mind that at all. Weāll seeā¦ Iām going to try and keep an open mind about it.
They wonāt seem too different to start with. They didnāt for me anyway. But you begin to notice the subtle differences and for my ears everything just sounds right. I love the Elex, but I will need to dust them off the next time I use them
What I plan on doing, If I like the Clears and decide to keep them, is offer the Elex to my brother as a straight up trade for his LCD2Cs. He has tried them once and seem to really enjoy themā¦ heās just not as crazy into getting more stuff and finding the āright thingāā¦ but I think he would prefer them over the LCD2Cs. And I could sell those off instead.
I love the Elex and Clears so much that I plan to eventually pick up the Utopias. I know theyāre not for everyone, and they are maybe not the best to relax with, but when Iāve demoed them I was drooling. I think they really can show the weaknesses in your setup though, so I would plan to get them around the same time I would buy a TT2 and/or Studio 6. M0N, I know I have said I was leaning towards the ha300, but I got a chance to listen to a Studio 6 the other night and I KNOW I loved it. Iād probably have to buy the ha300 blind and I canāt honestly imagine liking it more. Plus I know that there is a lot of info saying how great the Verites, and especially the Utopias, work with it. Since the Verites are already on their way, I am leaning in that direction
I mean the studio six is pretty great too I would suggest you get that if you like it rather than buy the ha300 blind. I personally prefer the ha300 but that doesnāt mean you have to
I was really tempted at the b stock 2Cs for $500 but I have heard them a bunch and figured I could put the $500 towards something else. I would hold onto them until people forget about the recently low sale price before you try to sell them
I prefer the look of the ha300 a lot more, but the Studio 6 was silent and really sounded incredible to me. Iāve also seen them used when they werenāt really on my radar, but Iāve never seen a used ha300 up for sale
Iāve been thinking a ton about my 2020 purchases. I was convinced my next big buy was going to be a Stax setup, but I wasnāt sure which configuration I was looking at. Then I was sure it was going to be a tt2/M Scaler, then RAALs, now Studio 6 vs ha300. So much for āendgameā
yeah, me tooā¦ Iām one of the few who is hoping for more delays so it doesnāt further cloud my purchasing future. Although I think the hype will 100% be there at the start like it is for everything. All the early adopters will say they love it even if its to justify the purchase. At this point, the Raals have been out long enough that I believe the hype to be true. I still will audition first, but I know itās no Nuraphone
The Clears are more efficient (easier to drive), but I have not tried them yet, but MON and Onaha seem to feel they are worth the upgrade. Iāll post my own impressions when I get them next week.
As for the other option, Iād personally wait and try to save up and stretch my budget to get the m11 pro over the m11.
