old filipino music is a wierd emalgamation of spanish love music, american folk and country music, and rock. new fillipino music nowadays is trying to mimick american pop or kpop.

I have listened to Greek music since I was a kid, as my Father is Greek. I highly recommend Stelios Kazantzidis…he is the equivalent of a Greek version of Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley wrapped into 1.

Stumbled over this Bulgarian choir session last month. personally, I find it’s multi-layered tonality and slightly odd time signature a beautiful orchestration. That’s to say I’m thoroughly intrigued.

Thanks for this. I thought it would be a good idea because most people say current music is bad but they are limiting themselves to one language or don’t look deep enough. I believe that you are bound to find something great if you look without borders

I highly recommend Wednesday Campanella for anyone even slightly into EDM or J-Pop although I don’t think either of those catagories describe them well enough. They have a lot weird conceptual stuff and a lot beautifully produced stuff closer to traditional(?) EDM.

https://youtu.be/4qPSHOTzidw I think Melos is a really good intro to their stuff, but Ra, Genghis Khan, Aladdin, and Shakushain all slap. Their two most recent albums are the more experimental, less musical ones but I still find them enjoyable.

Heilung describes their music as amplified history from early medieval northern Europe. I Love this live album, great quality. The female singer, Maria Franz, is just amazing.
