the Alara is nothing like the Quad…outside of a similarity in the look of the grill, they’re two completely different headphones. the Alara are so much smaller physically than the quad’s.
They are a bit smaller yes, but neither were comfortable for me, but I will say the quads sounded better to my ears (as you say)
yeah…the Quad’s aren’t as recognized a headphone as other planars and from what those that have them say, they punch well above their weight. I know you thought they weren’t anything special…nice, but not something that really stood out.
Well I think they didn’t have a sound aspect that struck me as exceptionally good, but that’s not a bad thing. They were very coherent and really a good all rounder imo. They just did most things right
Hmm, the driver looks similar but the diaphragm looks different to the m1060
This headset is the best of $ 300.
Very slightly forward vocal in position Very good balanced sound
Neutral sound without guidance
Bass is hard.
All listed stats are the same. The ‘peg’ pads are common ONLY to each other and the SAME size. The screening material on the back of the can - the same. The headband - the same. The vendor that makes them - the same.
Yeah… uh… what are Quads already?
Are you guys talking about the Quad Era 1?
Oh ok! Thanks. Well, that’s the first time I hear about these.
I believe Goldplanar is the company that makes all of Monoprice planar magnetic headphones. Unfortunately Goldplanar website is not working properly . No matter what you click on , it takes you to the home page , it worked fine about 4 months ago. I can’t find any information about gl1000 in english.
Goldplanar has release a AMT headphone that looks like a Hedd clone for about a 1/2 of the price.
Goldplanar GL850
what?! i wonder how it sounds compared to it. but it is a AMT driver. very interesting…
6999 yens is like 75$USD… don’t expect anything.

Must be for the miniature version
