Itās top end is problem area. It could use some treble boost. It really doesnāt bother me though enough to say itās bad. The headphone isnāt dark. So the micro detail might be effected. Another thing I do like is depth and large soundstage.

Okay so I switched to Feliks Euforia and itās a bit better at treble. The Tung Sol 5998 power tubes improved midrange as well. Bass is strong. Very clear sound. So I give 100 percent on the hype train. The source is Holo Audio Spring lvl 2 KTE. The WA33 looses tube magic being balanced SET amp. The OTL works differently with 250 mwatts on tap.
For those that donāt know Focal uses this amp at shows for the Utopia. Itās one of the few OTL that handle impedances down 32 ohms.

I was looking for a tube amp that could handle both, would the cyan as a dac be a major step down? Clears and Gold Planar
Iāve never heard Cyan. All Iāve heard was their tube amp is amazing with 300B tubes. Thatās a real magical tube. Unless your talking about their smaller tube amp. In case havenāt heard how good it is. Have no idea about their dac. Ares 2 r2r dac is good and good prices on used market.

Right on was looking at the Ares as well, seems like the Feliks would be the choice to work with. Loving the GLās for massive stuff, it really is like a concert.

Cloud, whats your impression on the signature? Rumbling bass by chance? You mention the soundstage is huge, whatās the other biggest headphone you have triedā¦ is it larger than that one by chance? How would you say this thing images.

Imaging is great, Yosiās Letter and Crossing for example. Hybrid pads are a must, itās just a huge and wide sound. Bass is fast and enough but I boost 3db for techno and bass music, responds well to EQ. As for gaming I have no clue but imagining left to right is great. Itās just a big huge thick sound IMO

I havenāt tried a ton, Ollo s4x and Focal Clears are the widest I have but Iām still only day two with the Clears
eh, I prefer airy materialā¦ got a reason why the hybrids are a must? I mean, as long as it has air to it and treble, were good though lol. What kind of signature would you call this headphone? Neutral? Warm? V? kind of curious as from the reviews thatās kind of hard to really pin down. Hearing it rated potentially higher than arya caught my attention considering just how good aryas are.
sounding like an audeze honestlyā¦ anytime I have sat with audezes they have that large rich and thick sound to them.
glad to hear it atleast responds well to EQ, some headphones I have tried just die on the EQ board lol. You have to boost the bass though, thatās oddā¦ is it bassier than the clear atleast?

Itās till early for me to really pinpoint and Iām not quite sure what burn in needs both have. I spent the morning with the Golds and tonight with the Clears. The Hybrids widen them out significantly, the stock leathers came on them and were comfy but it felt closed in so Z was right there. Iām not sure on signatures but I would not call them V shaped, not super hyped detail, no painful treble like Beyer 250ās. I do boost .5 db at 7k and 3db at 110, thatās where I like my kicks but I only use on bass music, techno cuz it responds so well. Remember this is my first planar experience Iām still getting used to it. Tipperās Jettison Mind Hatch album is insane. So is Yosi, Iāve never heard an audeze but I wouldnāt say they are dark or lacking high end, I wouldnāt say itās too etched either

I wanna add though, this is so comfortable, like pillows around my ear, they donāt even touch, first one Iāve experienced like that, now Iām trying to see where to move to maximize the chain. Iām only on a Monoprice THX desktop, balanced out. I hover around -16db
Imaging is greater on GL but comparing a 40mm driver which is quite small to a driver 3+ times it sizeā¦that is expected. So sense of being there is closer to Arya than Clear. Bass lines are good on both. I am becoming a planar fanboy though as the speed and decay is just about perfect/being there.

If I recall your someone who also has large ears and a big head as do I, so this is a good note for me.
Curious how these would perform on the Liquid platā¦ seeing how it adds some tones of warmth and what not.

Hahah oohhhh damn. No man I truly wish I was better at articulating what Iām hearing but I can listen loud with these, just a huge thick sound and itās wide with enough detail. Itās like everything is enough then you can sprinkle in EQ if you want and it takes it, pretty transparently. I donāt think youāll have any trouble reselling off you donāt like them. This is a macro headphone if Iāve ever heard one. Would I produce or mix with it? No, would I slam whatever I did just make and love every second of it? Absolutely

Considering the hype train? nah, not really no. I just didnāt want to be bothered with reselling themā¦ but I just figured screw itā¦ I will get to the Zeus later onā¦ this takes current auditioning for now. I have enough headphones under my belt to figure out this headphone, I do wish I had a measurement rig though would be niceā¦ but, whateverā¦ let people like DMS and Crinacle handle stuff like that.

Hahaha exactly all that. Chris was right, and Iāve said it multiple times, itās like being at a show. To me I can feel it energizing the room and itās just this cohesive thick sound, right but thick bass. Bass Syrup
