šŸ”¶ GoldPlanar GL2000

I prefer the hybrid D pads over the stock pads. I felt they improved the soundstage and sound overall in my opinion.

So happy with mine! tried both sets of pads, not a big difference, went back to stock because I like memory foam. Going to order and try some ZMF pads and Ill let everyone know.

I have not A/Bā€™d them yet. I will as they burn in more. I definitely like the comfort of the GLā€™s more and not just because of them being over the ear. I also like the highs more, cymbals, especially crash, sound very real to me.

I like my FH7 for comfort more, the Monarchs are large and donā€™t fit my ears the best. It is not the tips, it is just the physical size of the IEM.
Anyway, I will do some comparisons in the next few weeks or sooner depending on work.

I would ask others that own the GLā€™s, does the low end resolve as good as I hear them. I have definitive BP8080ST Towers with dual SVS subs, and the bass detail lags just behind those. As I mentioned above, it handles canons like no other headphone I have heard yet.
Though that may not be saying much.

Iā€™m pretty sure amazon only stocked the single magnet version. So itā€™s not the same as what Z reviewed, Ive heard the singles are kinda bad

Edit: easy way to tell is if it has the gold bars going across the outside, the singles donā€™t. I checked on amazon before I ordered mine from linsoul and only say the single, but who knowsā€¦

wellā€¦ how goes it?

Not sure who Z is. I will need to check out his review.

As for the version, I do have the double magnetic, this I am positive of.

please compare the hybrid D pads vs Oval,
is it true that the D are in lower quality?
the stock pads is more comfortable but doesnā€™t sound as good.

thank you,

I know this is my First post on here but these sound extremely good exactly what i was expecting from the review . I have probably put around 50 hours on them and to me although it might just be my brain the sound seems to have smoothed out and stage has widened since i first received them. I have been using them with the D shaped pads with my topping a90 / modius with a +3db bass shelf and have no complaints. They are easily better than my lcd2c in every single way. Ill have to wait for my clears to come back for another headphone comparison but i know they are 2 separate beasts in their own way. I am very eager to try these with a class A amp such as Rebel or Flux labs offerings so if anyone has any experience iā€™d love to know.

Zeos, you werenā€™t kidding about these headphones. Iā€™ve been using them over the past 2 days, and I have to say that Iā€™m impressed with them. They literally on par with my TH900ā€™s, which is absolutely insane to think. I think the Fostex has an edge on bass a bit, but the GL2000 makes it up with a bit more open soundstage and some impressive imaging. Without EQ, I didnā€™t like their sound much, but they respond really well to EQ, and after some tweaks, they sound great.

I havenā€™t even fully burned them in yet. I think I might keep these!

well I donā€™t have much frame of reference as these are my first open back headphones ever, i do also own the audeze penrose so these are not my first planar, initial impression is they sound fantastic (for sure a step up from the penrose in sound quality and soundstage) however I think I may have had unrealistic expectations in terms of how open they sound, they still do very much sound like a headphone and not speakers like you were kind of describing, this is only after like 4-5 hours of use and people seem to say they open up more with ā€œburn inā€ so lets hope for that

update: holy shit do these sound good with some of my favourite albums, been listening for the last 6 hours noticing so many little things, did not dissapoint <3

If you had to choose between Xduoo ta-20 hybrid tube or Flux FA-12s class A which would you pick for the GL2K?

It may be country specific but Amazon in the UK are definitely selling both versions.

That makes sense, Iā€™m in the US and only the single is Available on Amazon. Which sucks, not a fan of amazon but itā€™s better then some company Iā€™ve never heard of.

According to DHL, I should be getting mine on the 4th. I also ordered some pads that I hope fit.

Rip when the Ether CX has barely any dynamic range and the GL2000 has a bit less :cry:

Iā€™m receiving mine this week. I ordered a couple of weeks ago from the manufacturer directly via taobao, way before news of the D hybrid pads. So I believe I should be receiving the original oval hybrid pads.

I asked the manufacturer about the change of pad. They claimed that the D shaped pads are improved versions, Iā€™m not sure if I believe them. Anyway they offered to send me the D shaped pads if the ones that comes with my headphones are the oval hybrid pads. Iā€™ll keep you guys posted.

Planars in general have flatter dynamics than most dynamic headphones. They can move a hefty amount of bass and extend well, but dynamics usually suffer either way.

Or course the DHL driver shows up with the delivery right as Iā€™m getting in my car to head to work this morning after they didnā€™t deliver them on Friday as scheduled.

Glad to have my GL2000 in hand, but hate having to stare at it in my office all day, lol.
