While changing pads on my pair of gl2000s I noticed there is some felt around the driver. Has anyone taken them out to see if it changes the sound?
Linsoul is a distributor. The manufacturer would be Goldplanar. Kind of in the name.
I just got my GPGL2000 today.
I have a THX 789 amp and a JNOG Dac.
How do I plug the 4.4 pentaconn headphone cable that came with it into my 3.5 mm amp?
Should I buy a new headphone cable?
you get an adapter cable or adapter from 4.4 to XLR do not get an adapter from 3.5 to 4.4 you will blow your amp
Probably the FA12, Powerrrr
I recommend a 4pin XLR to pentacon adapter. https://www.amazon.com/4-4mm-Balanced-Headphone-Adapter-Female/dp/B07JPGZLTZ/
Not available for 2 months. Do I get a new headphone cable till then?
It has 2x 3.5mm in on the headphone.
You can try to find a unbalanced cable 3.5mm to 2x 3.5mm.
Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/NewFantasia-Replacement-Compatible-Headphones-Connector/dp/B08D8WNLQZ
Or you can try and find a 4mm pentaconn to 3.5mm adapter.
You can convert the balanced 4.4 connector to 3.5 without problems. Just dont go the other way round (so dont put un unbalanced cable into a balanced in/output)
But all these options are unbalanced.
Best would be the connector Z recommended.

Am I the only one that can’t wait to pull the grills off and open them up even more?
I just bought that adapter. Came in a couple of weeks. Seems well built (a bit stiff). Works fine.
Something like this should work https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0828KKVZ8/
Just check the reviews, there are some very low quality ones.

Got my 2nd pair of GL2000s in today and they also had the D shaped hybrid pads with no memory foam. Bought from Linsoul and Amazon.
Just a Xduoo xd-05+
What kind of cable did your linsoul one come with?
The Geshelli Erish Amp is balanced, so is the THX 789, neither has direct 4.4 pentaconn options. what balanced amp with pentaconn 4.4 would you recommend to run with a JNOG Dac?
Does the Topping A90 sound good with the GL2000?
Definitely don’t buy an amp around a Pentaconn plug. Just get different headphone cables.
They both came with the same 8 braided cable to 4.4.
Yeah isn’t 4.4 a rarity for cables included with headphones?
Just got them as well
They are definitely heavier than my Sundara and I’ve only been listening for about 10 minutes but I can tell I like these more already. I do miss the vocal forwardness(or maybe its more vocal intimate?)of the Sundara compared to the GL2000 however. My 58x are too closed in for me, GL2000 seems too wide, and the Sundara vocals seems right where i want it. Bass seems lacking punch compared to the Sundara too. But im sure after break in and getting used to the sound I’ll love them even more. Using hybrid pads. Did not bother with the oval leather ones. My only complaint is that they don’t have clamp force at all, so even on the smallest fit, they still wobble on my head when I move my head. Running these off a Modius and an Atom so im sure there is more power to be unlocked if I switch to a better amp.
I have the THX 789 amp. Looking to get an amp with 4.4 option.
I’m afraid if I get a convertor (4.4 to XLR) that it would take away from the quality of the sound vs directly plugging it in to a good amp.
So when I find the 4.4 amp I need (most likely the Topping A90), I will most likely need another Dac (my current dac is a JNOG).
This is the insanity of being an Audiophile.
Go 4 broke or gtfo
