lmao thats my issue with it, I donāt like it sitting on my jaw. headphone is massive.
they are what you can classify as fake by being āoverly detailedā as is normal when you view bright headphones of sortsā¦ but, i meanā¦ if it sounds that good who the hell cares if itās Fake?
yes but my aeon 2 sounded on another level such low distortion and clarity. no reverb just smooth . it would be my recommend for a lot of people. end game for most. ananda or arya if you want a little more sparkle and space, nothing beats the comfort and build of the aeon or aeon 2. all of those could be end game for someone.
speaking of aeon 2ā¦ I just got those todayā¦ not sure about end game but, yeah quite something. I enjoy those a hell of a lotā¦ I do wish however, I could have them in blue lol
have used open x for a long timeā¦ prefer my aeons over theseā¦ any day
yes not endgame for us crazy people but could blow the average persons mind . and even people just starting out . prefer aeons over what? aeon 2 or gl2k ?
i always preferred the closed aeons. the new one seems to have too much bass and bleed into the mids unfortunately the noir. if anyone here wants a different flavor upgrade to the gl2k the aeon 2 closed is quite good. quite large sound stage for a closed back. maybe open version is good as well. but if i was to give the gl2k a price i think dms saying its like 200$ is a bit low. yes its not that great build but its a big planar and id say its worth around the sundaras price , although id pick the sundara for its amazing tuning. its a smaller sounding unit for sure though.
from what ive heard from DMS and a couple others such as whats his name from headphone show. lol its kinda a lot of bass since they are using the harman curve tuning and the bass is very elevated basically bass cans lol im sure all the other super clean planar aspects that are unique to Mr speakers planars. but might be a but much for audiophile balance requirements. idk still interesting at the price. here is DMS graph
thats unfortunate. measurements are a tool they are not the whole picture but finding out the distortion profile and frequency balance of any audio device is very important for fiding synergy or explaining why you hear something. gl2k is perfect example. freq response above the mids is very bad and you can hear it. otherwise its just a random guess and opinion which is fine but its not going to get me to buy something. just like Z made everyone think its the best headphone when it clearly has many problems. at least we can see what they are and decide if we can fix them with the graph.
Except I can start poking a million holes in the theory that graphs are the miracle answer to āis this thing good?ā
How do I know what equipment was used to make the graph? How do I know there wasnāt some imperfection in the measuring process? What do those squiggly lines even mean? Iām colorblind and canāt see these difference between the overlapping charts. How do I know I can trust the chart? How do I know there wasnāt a flaw in the headphone being measured that wonāt be in mine, or vice versa? Which version of the particular headphone was used?
I could go on, and I havenāt even gotten into the āwhat ifā questions
open-x if you like more neutral, RT if you like more V shape, aeon 2 if you again like a bit even more neutral but still harman, and aeon noir I guess is significantly harman V
Personally I would say open-x is a good place if you can find one with returns
Eh, I still wanna upgrade my TA-10 to a TA-20, and may sell off a few things before I make that jump. Donāt really use my XD-05 much, and tend to stick with my A-100, ZEN DAC and TA-10. Again, I feel like Iād be in a different ballpark of equipment, and would be throwing things outta wack.
i guess that would be a good argument if i said any of those things, i said its a tool. and using it predictions can be made that can then be confirmed with listening . i think it could have save a lot of people money especially people who listen to Z. but to each their own. if you enjoy it then enjoy it. but yeah dont think the ta-10 is anywhere near enough for an aeon . its a very hard headphone to drive.
