Funny shit. I always thought Crinacle graphs were accurate (compensated!) because my KZ ZS10 Pros sounded V-shaped
 But you’re right. Since I bought a good cable the “mid scoop” disappeared, lol.

The standard, 1$ cable is horrible.

But I do know that most planars are flat from the sub-bass all the way through the mids until the frequency response hits the “ortho wall”, typically in the upper mids, then starts to roll off into the treble. These are the limitations of most planar drivers. Here is an Audeze LCD-2C frequency response graph that displays what I am talking about
notice the ortho wall starts around 5 KHz

But what Sendy did is add that metal reflector/air flow plate on the back cups of the driver. This was by design and this design was done to push the ortho wall down the frequency response to the 1.2 KHz region, instead of the ortho wall hitting the upper mids. This design also shaped and elevated the treble as a result

Being that the Sendy’s bass starts to roll off in the 40 Hz range, recessed mids at 1.2 KHz, and good treble extension from 5 to 15 KHz
that does make them specialized and unique. Whether this uniqueness is good or bad depends on the listener and their preferences.

But
most people buy planars for the linear flat response and full frequency extension from the low sub-bass into the upper mids. This is the desired sound signature most people look for in a headphone with planar drivers. Since the Sendy’s don’t fall under this sound signature trait, that does indeed make them categorically specialized.

I’m not trying to rag on the sendys here, they are a pretty great headphone, but they don’t do the best with all genre. If you enjoy the sound they provide it’s pretty awesome

They are better than any beats or any normal headphone outside the audiophile community. I can put them on most peoples heads and watch their faces just go mush. Yea there are better cans out there but for the avg Joe they are fucking amazeballs lol

I own a pair of Sivga P-II myself. But others need to understand that calling something unique or specialized isnt ragging on them. My main reason for my above post was just to explain where the Sendys fit categorically within the realm of planars, and what makes them specialized.

People get a bit defensive about their gear (hell, I do too at times)
BUT
if you are enjoying your gear, why care what the label is? Why care about what others think? If you do care what others think, you aren’t in the hobby for the right reasons, AKA you’re just trying to “keep up with the Jones’s” so to speak. Enjoy your gear, enjoy the music! :metal:

The way I see it, if these are half as good as Zeos hypes them up to be, they’ll be just as worth it at $200 as they are at $130. And I think he even says it in the video, but if they’re popular enough, they’ll probably end up on Drop at like 150-160 or something like that, so I’m content to wait and hear what more people have to say about them.

To me it just shows the weakness on the part of the maker to not understand tuning and all this campaign is to fulfill the minimum order for the factor.

I agree. That’s what’s they (ThieAudio but trad that as any other random company that Linsoul distributes for) did with the Phantom. They took a more than capable driver and made it worse. People are funding a mass buy of drivers.

What do you have against the Phantom? When i was looking for a planar headphone people were raving about them. i mean yeah you gotta remove the filter inside but its fairly easy to do that. i heard they were very good sounding headphones

It’s moreso that it was fine when you did the mods, but it was outperformed by others in the market for a similar price stock, so it doesn’t really have a good niche or anything, more along the lines of just alright when there were more refined offerings already in the market at the time
