So, Black Friday offer in Amazon Spain was a good deal. 270⬠tax included when normal price is 340ā¬.
I have taken the bait. This morning I ordered them and they are at home now. SN 950
Frustrated because I canāt try them because I donāt have anything with 4,4 mm, I have no other cable that works with it, or any adaptor (tomorrow will arrive one from Amazon). Talk about first world problems
I really wasnāt thinking about buying them. But the offer made me think āworst case scenario I can sell them at a small loseā, but I am lying to myself, because I have never sold anything I bought thinking that.
Powering with a Loxjie A30 using a Geekria 6.35mm Stereo Male to 4.4mm Balanced Female Adapter.
Initial impressions: Music sounds great and a noticeable improvement from my Audio Technica M40Xs and SHP-9600s.
Gaming performance had me concerned at first as I was having a hard time where items/enemies were located based on sound. After some experimentation I figured out that the left and right channels were swapped despite wearing them correctly (cable labels matching the ones on the headphones).
Reversing the cables seems to have solved the problem but Iām not sure if the adapter is the cause. This is my first experience with the 4.4mm connector so unfortunately I donāt have any other devices to test for confirmation. Has anyone had any issues with channel inversion on the Eris, either with or without an adapter?
I let them burn in for 80 hours instead of the initial thought of 24 hours. Going to start giving them a listen now with some of my favorite bass tracks to see how they sound.
Hard to say if you donāt have another adapter or wire to test with. I would assume its the adapters fault or something else in the chain. Keep in mind you can also wear them backwards for More soundstage.
Just about to order a pair of these after being a longtime Z Reviews watcher!
You lead me to HD668Bs, a Syba Sonic, and an Antlion Modmic when I was first interested in better audio. Then to the X2HR with 2 sets of Dekoni pads, and a Schitt Fulla, which changed my audio enjoyment insanely! After several years, the headband on my X2HRs has finally started stretching out to the point I have to safety pin it to prevent sagging, so I decided to try out something new.
Iāve learned that I have about $300 ears, so anything above that will probably be wasted on me. Iām doing about 95% gaming, 5% music. It finally came down to the Sivga Luan vs Eris. Many said Luan was alright for gaming, but I keep seeing massive hordes writing that Eris is completely amazeballs for gaming, so Eris wins!
I noticed that Linsoul is currently only offering the earpads and not the headband for sale. Thereās one question posted on the store page from back in June where they only say āCurrently, we do not offer the headband separately for sale.ā and I havenāt seen anything else about that. Any idea when they plan on making that available or if third party options may become a thing? Definitely will want an extra set of all 3 pads.
Also, they list a 4.4mm to 3.5mm adapter for separate purchase on the page, but itās not specified or described what adapter it is. Itās about $11, so Iām just wondering if itās a discounted good quality adapter, or if itās like a shitty adapter that I wouldnāt want to use for my nice new headphones. Do you have any specifics on the adapter they list and whether it would be fine to use, or if we should maybe just spend another $10-15 for a better one? ā¦or consider upgrading to a DAC/Amp with 4.4mm out? lol
I asked them about this recently and they said YES⦠But not date yet. Hopefully by the spring the headband pad will be out there.
I donāt love the straight 4.4 to 3.5 adapter they offer with Eris. So iād get a 1/4" to 4.4 with a short wire lead or the ddHiFi Adapter if you want to spend $40 on something real nice.
I genuinely really like these headphones a lot! I would not call myself a basshead by any means, but I do like the way it feels in my ear canals, and these deliver on it for sure! Just wish sub-bass was a little more prominent. Do have a funny anecdote about these, however. I accidentally bumped the left side with my arm, causing it to have about a 50% reduction in volume. I took them apart, thinking that maybe a wire or something had maybe gone loose in there, but couldnāt see anything physically wrong on the inside even with a magnifying glass, so to check if the voice coil or cone had maybe broken off I very gently pushed the cone in with the dull side of my tweezers, and somehow the sound came back exactly how it was previously. I was not even expecting to fix it like that, but it seemed to work, I guess! When I fixed it I was in the middle of writing an email to Linsoul to see if the damage was covered by warranty to get an RMA, which was something I really did not want to do, so Iām glad it all worked out and I can keep enjoying these absolute bass beasts !
First I heard about a driver inverting with air pressure. Glad it popped out. Seems not much can hurt Eris, even some people using them at such high volumes they act like as a bluetooth speaker.
The only broken pair that Iāve seen physically broken was one of MY sets trying to plug a really SHIT $500 Silver cable in and it bending one of the contacts in the left 3.5mm port. I will never forget, nor forgive.
I am waiting for your opinion.
During the last month I have put on them less than two hours of use. I still donāt have a well formed opinion, but I am not fully convinced about how they sound.
I just did one fast comparison between Eris and the Cascades and I thought that the Cascade sounded clearly better.
They are not on the same price bracket, so it might not be a fair comparison. Eris have excellent comfort and cable. But the Cascades are too close to my personal preferences in terms of sound.
I am guessing that the Cascades will be better, for me. I have been using them for years and they cost more than double the Eris. And also, Zeos mentioned that the Eris need a lot of burn-in/break-in.
I am hoping for a different kind of sound in a comfortable headphone. And purple is a nice shake up for the collection.
Got these earlier than expected. I am surprised and pleased!
I wasnāt expecting a lot at this price point, but didnāt want to go big.
Now, letās get to the important stuff. I LOVE the purple set-up! My collection needed an influx of colour.
I was leery early on as the left side kept cutting out. I then realized that, like the Grell OAE-1ās, you Really need to insert that input with enthusiasm. āProblemā fixed.
The look is great, the fit is super comfortable and I really enjoy the sound.
I am using my iFi Pro iCAN amp. Right now, I am in tube mode, one notch of bass boost, two notches of 3D sound and on mid-gain at about 9:00 on the dial. Sounds so much more open and just ābiggerā than my HiFiman Arya V2ās.
Between the sound and the peanut butter cookies, I am having a GREAT Christmas day!
Tried this combo again today with some changes: Solid State mode and No sound effects enabled.
Again, I was very pleased. A few hours of Dave Matthews and then I changed over to an hour of Bob Moses.
Clean sound with very good bass when called upon. Horns and vocals sounded great today.
I canāt wait to start doing comparisons. These sound SO good that I am wondering if I am way off base due to āshiny new toyā syndrome.
I will start comparoās after the weekend.
So far, they sound like a solid addition to the collection. Maybe tomorrow I will try the jazz world. And probably more blues as that genre does do well with some bass.
The HarmonicDyne x Zeos ERIS is a uniquely designed and sonically balanced headphone for audio enthusiasts who are looking for clear highs and natural midrange. It has a less exaggerated low end and more of a balanced presentation, making it suitable for listening to a wide range of genres. The only downside is that for headphones that require a certain amount of thrust, users may need to use it in conjunction with an earphone amplifier to get the best results.
Less exaggerated low end??
The box literally says "the bass violence necessary for changeā
Is this an AI text? Because I donāt think that anyone could consider these neutral.
They are fun, they might have too much bass.
