Headphones under 150

They’re cute but the video sounds like a mix of happy hardcore and pop music, ouch, lol.

DT770s are closed-backs, treble-y.
HD58X are open-back, bassy.

Kinda ironic because I prefer closed-backs for the bass and the open-backs for “air”
(…but the HD58Xs are also glorious for air, I love mine).

Anyway, both are dynamic drivers. Planars is a different thing. Like, all-around clarity, details, and in-your-face bass/kicks… because… Planars are mostly more dynamic than dynamic drivers. :man_shrugging:

Not sure for he4xxs but that’s what I get from my (modded) T50RPs. You probably will be surrounded by bass on the Nujabes track with planars (like He4xx’s).

The 58x aren’t really that bassy compared to other headphones, I would say the 770 250 ohm are bassier that the 58x

Also planars are dynamic if you give them enough driving power

I’ve heard the dt770s were bass kings… not the case? Never heard them… just what I’ve read.

Apparently they’re V-Shaped.

OP could also go for anything “warm”.

My guess is the he4xx’s will be energetic?

You havent heard them though? Z and metal571 both praised the bass.

DT770 I can confirm have incredible sub-bass, but not necessarily warmth. They seem to roll of in the higher bass range. The highs were too sibilant to me on the 80 ohm, but I liked the 250 ohm.

When I tested DT-770’s 250Ohm, I found them bland in a way.
Yes, Beyerdynamic-V signature, yes bass, yes treble, well built, but bland.

thnx for the clariication, i was confused too lol

korean, but cute indeed!

thnx for the help everyone, altho i must admit after going through the choices there were recurring ones mentioned and i decided to buy the hifiman 4xx. thanks alot. also bought the 58x so i will be looking forward to them. seems like i will get a different sound with each so hopefully it rounds out with my multiple genres!

The 1More triple (two + passive) over ears may be closer to bass kings, not sure if they are though.

the dt 770 are much bassier and v shaped the 58x aren’t bassy but warm and mid focused.

i’ve heard so! quite curious about them. but i believe they were super v shaped, could be wrong but that’s a turn off if it is too out there

Sorry. I got HD58Xs and mine are bassy with inoffensive, beautiful treble and high-treble (“air”). I’m treble-sensitive so my first idea about the 770s was “treble-y”. That’s not saying anything about the other parts of the frequency range. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m 100% certain I’d find em V-Shaped (100% too treble-y, and probably too bassy for me).

These are my 2nd favorite headphone, the Triple Driver. They definitely had more sub bass than the DT770. They are a truly unique experience if you want something very different. Just PM me if you want more details on them!
I tried them for a week or two before returning them because I couldn’t afford them at the time, and I am saving up for them as my next pair.

The 80 ohm was definitely sibilant to me. The 250 ohm was less sharp in the highs though, I enjoyed it, and the sub bass was a little tighter and much more accurate.
Sorry for double post.
