I don’t think they sound better tbh, it’s more preference imo

Also have you considered the dt880 250 ohm?

True the Sennheiser has better midrange but I was pretty excited to try my first planar and the soundstage that the 4xx have

they don’t sound better… it has a different presentation than most headphones that could fool many beginners like myself to make it sound better.

I’ll measure my beyers and see how wide they get.

I don’t know about fool, it is pretty good, but it’s just not clearly superior over the 58x or anything

You have DT880s ? how convinient

I mean the 58x, 4xx, and the dt880 600 ohm are the holy trinity of the sub 200 cans imo lol

Hmm looking at the graph for the DT880’s, I never considered them

So I have to boost the subbass as well maybe even more but that treble tho

The 600 ohm is the one to go for imo, but you pretty much have to get an amp for them to be usable

250 ohm while not as good as the 600 ohm is more usable without an amp

nah I have 990 pros max they stretched safely got to 28cm manged to stretch it 32cm.

sounds like you want a 990 my friend

Idk if I would like that 880 treble

I don’t think he was talking about the treble in a positive light lol, the 990 would be murder to him lol

When I see the 10-15k area not being reduced on graphs i get worried cuz that area affects me alot I am very sensitive to that area, also the 6k peak is the one that my apple earpods also have and i dont enjoy that, 7k would’ve been preferred

If you are pretty concerned about treble, I unfortunately wouldn’t really recommend the beyers

ah makes sense thought you meant you wated to add more iun the treble region

Oof what to do what to do, the 990s have recessed mids so those are out of discussion imediatly also they have boosted 10-15k so yeah definitely out of dicussion

I wowuldn’t reccomend any beyers and would just stick to senns even over the he 4xx cause I find the 4xx sometimes a wee bit peaky up top

Well if the 58x would fit you well, I would say go for it, I really don’t think you can go wrong with it imo

That’s amazing bass extension for an open back, they do have recessed mids tho oof and that treble, god damn it beyer
