looks good with the fh3 cable at least lol

My channel imbalance occurred during burn-in, so I didnā€™t have them in my ears when it happened.

I would argue that (at least for me) the Starfields are relatively comfortable. Personally, when wearing them, I donā€™t notice the weight, even after wearing for 2+ hours of continuous use. But this may just be me.

no comparison to other popular IEMs like the shozy or the urbanfun

also isnā€™t NTR a meme here?

Possibly but this review did seem pretty fair and well rounded plus it managed to stay on topic lol

Canā€™t comment on the SFā€™s per se but yeah if a set fits me well then I donā€™t notice the weight either :+1:

I like the IT00 a lot. It is a great IEM, and an easy recommendation for a lot of people, but it has become too much of hype train at times (not here, that Iā€™ve noticed though).

Iā€™ve read quite a number of people stating outright that it is clearly superior to the Starfield. Now, Iā€™ve actually never heard the Starfield, but based on itā€™s reputation, I find this hard to believe. I can certainly understand many people preferring the sound of the IT00 to the Starfield, or any other equivalent IEM, but outright superior? I doubt it. The IT00 is a very capable IEM that punches well above itā€™s price, but it is not some revolutionary world class IEM, IMHO. I prefer my NF Audio NA2 to the IT00. I think it is more balanced sounding and more detailed.

Again, not knocking the IT00 at all, just keeping it real.

Oh, and I donā€™t think the IT00 is ā€œsuperiorā€ to the Tin T4 either. Both are capable, but with VERY different tunings. I do think a lot more people would like the tuning of the IT00 though. The T4 has some prominent upper mids for sure.

I really like the sound of the IT00. I would say I prefer it to the Starfield, but I canā€™t recommend it because of many sets being faulty. My first set developed a serious channel imbalance after a day or two of owning it and breaking it in.

My Starfield and KXXX have been rock solid, but theyā€™re just not that exciting to listen to. They are the vanilla flavor of IEMs. Nothing wrong, and nothing special.

Seems that it all depends on your thoughts of a Harman tuning. I really was not a fan of the Starfield for that reason.

I personally really like my Starfieldā€¦ I simply happen to find myself using other things more often.

I just got my replacement IT00 and NO CHANNEL IMBALANCE! (yet)

Also sounds like there might be a little bit less driver flex this timeā€¦or maybe I dont remember how much driver flex I had on the first unitā€¦

EDIT: The mmcx wasnt as tight as on my first unit. So maybe they changed it after a lot of people mentioned it?

FIY!

Change the cable on your IT00! It measures at 1.46 ohm!!!

And my measurements are actually LOWER than they should be, so who knows how high it is.

What does this mean? lol! Does this have something to do with units becoming defective?

I originally used the stock cable. My second unit Iā€™ve been using this cableā€¦

I love this cable! Itā€™s incredibly soft.

I mean, is that a bad thing? They prob knew what they were doing when they put that cable on there, since itā€™s a single dynamic they could be using that for compensating or tuning the impedance curve

I preferred it over the Andro cable I tried and the FiiO FH7 one.

Most expensive and good cables have much lower resistances. Like under 0.3 ohms.

So using a cable with that high resistance is most likely going to change the sound.

Then again, just like mon says hopefully ibasso knew what they were doing with that. As some iems might need a higher resistance cable to compensate for their tuning.

But lower resistance is essentially ā€œbetterā€ in cables. But not always.

Soā€¦ Iā€™m still confused. But thatā€™s normal.

Basically there is 2 options here.

  1. They used a really cheap and bad cable. Because the resistance is high and that is one of the few objective factors in cables.

  2. They factored in the high resistance when they tuned the IT00.

Which one it is, I have no idea. As I didnt even bother trying the stock cable and just went with the Faaeal litz copper cable (measures at 0.16 ohms).

FIY my measurements are lower than they should be, but the comparisons are still valid because they are all done on the same tool/method.
